Huge shout out to Honda Crewe for ensuring my oil filter was firmly jammed in place. Guessing they didn't oil the seal before installing it either as it was well and truly on there.
Strap wrench didn't work, chain wrench didn't work so ended up removing my airbox to get more access to the filter, putting a huge C-Clamp around the filter and attaching a bar to the end of the clamp to get it to budge.
glad I did that before resorting to the screwdriver method.
my thirty minute oil change turned into a 2 hour series of facepalm moments.

Those claw ones and other similar ones like chains are horrible to use, they leave blisters when you try to undo an overtightened filter in an awkward place.
Even more worse to use when the filter is at the back end of the engine like many old Honda's and you have to crawl all the way underneath and then wrestle amongst the huge pipe that runs across!
The lesson here is to always tourque the filter correctly and use a dedicated socket.![]()
