Type R and VTEC owners

Not what I wanted before Christmas but I've just coughed up for a new o2 sensor as I'm getting a PO141 error code. (Sensor 2)

How easy is this to swap out as I'll have a go tomorrow?

(EP3 if you can't see sigs)

Can be a pain if you don't have a blow torch, they can need heat to get them loose.

You can buy something for a tenner though that'll get them about hot enough to break free

Also don't go near one without a proper o2 socket, if you need to get a decent bar onto it you don't want to start rounding it off

Ive managed to snap the hinge on the lid of my centre console in an 8th gen Civic. Anyone know somewhere to buy a new hinge? I can only seem to find replacements for US cars :/ no doubt honda will want to sell me the entire arm rest at a silly price.

Look Here

I bought my arch trims from these guys, didn't have any problems.

Cheers! should find a few bits and bobs on there. Just as i thought £150 quid for the assembly, outch :(. Its just the hinge thats snapped in half. Might get the other half out the centre console and try gluing it .

I had been planning on getting some new 2 piece discs, but they're pretty expensive and I have tax to pay this month so I decided against it for another month or two.

Took the car for a drive last weekend and the brake pedal didn't feel nice at all. There was a judder in line with wheel speed.

Looks like I'll be getting the discs after all.

Performance Friction 2 piece discs for the front and Dixcel FCR FP discs for the rear on their way. I've also ordered PBS pads all round to take as spares to Spa.

What lovely cold weather for fitting them, so I may limp the car to a local garage I trust.

I've never cracked a disc despite abusing quite a lot of them. Seen a few on regular cars that don't see any hard driving crack like that though. I would agree that it is age/rust related rather than due to usage.

I know full well that it's due to their age - they're the same discs that were on the car when I bought it, probably the same it came from the factory with. I've since driven the car hard and done a few track days.

Well then if this is the first problem you have had then I would put the cheque book away and just get stock replacements. 2 piece are a fairly ridiculous expense, especially when there won't really be any benefit and you're going to get through them quick doing trackdays.

Of course there will be benefits, they cool down a lot quicker than 1 piece rotors. I had them on my Evo and they were superb, I also had two piece AP rotos on my DC5 and it was probably the best modification I did.

U wot m8?

The iron takes much longer to heat up in the first place.

The real benefit is from decent curved vanes inside the rotor to pump and the holes from the bolted interface help reduce heat transfer into the wheel bearing.

Yeah exactly. And so 2 piece may actually run hotter. Although they are less likely to distort

Well that's not the way it's been described to me in the past.

But whatever, I'm pretty confident I'll notice a substantial improvement on track. They have to me in the past so I don't see why they wouldn't now.

So much negativity in here from certain people.

What improvement will you notice ?

I just think you bolt stuff on and then assume because it's expensive that it will work better. The biggest benefit you will get will be on the suspension cause you've made the 'wheels' lighter.

You think it's negative as its against your thoughts. I'm just saying that no one ever cracks disks (apart from drilled) and upgraded disks are not needed. You make out you have discovered a new element or something.

We all saw your last video where it's hardly like you are the hardest braker on the world. It's interesting that on here you didn't mention your braking yet on s2000 forums you made out you were Lewis Hamilton and brake 'really late and hard'

I guess some people just don't like the way chequebook modders come across :). If theses were so vital why on earth did you spend money on spoon monoblock calliper and leave old brake disks on !?

What pads are they anyway. My thoughts are they are putting some serious deposit on that disk
