Type R and VTEC owners

Someone has either keyed or has opened a door pretty hard into the rear panel of my ep3. Pretty darn annoying considering i've already spent nearly 600 quid on it this month. Grr

Are there any/many DC5 owners on here? Debating selling my mx5 and getting one. The car will be a weekend car/toy and the only reason I'm thinking of selling the 5 is due to needing a couple of extra seats. Prior to the 5 I had an EP3, just wondering how they compare? Really want something with a LSD so a DC5 or JDM ep3 are high on the list. I'm spoilt with the 5 as it's well modified so I'm expecting a drop in handling, just trying to minimise that drop as much as possible.

I had a DC5 up until last October. Best car I've owned, driven, even been in. I loved that car and when finances allow I'll most likely be getting another one! The handling is fantastic, the engine is great fun, large potential for modding - both NA and FI - and a relatively rare sight that gets quite a bit of attention! I used it as my daily car and travelling long distance up and down the country and it never skipped a beat.

I would say take a look on the DC5 owners website, but it's been down for a few days unfortunately.

DC2 wooop :D

My update from yesterday.

1. Place battery back into 9 month hibernated Teg.
2. Doesn't start.
3. Wheel outside garage, block other cars on our drive.
4. Still can't get to start, realise need to go pickup curry so try to move it out way.
5. Have curry and beers, think about Teg and it could be battery/grounding problem.
6. Slightly boozy check battery terminals, -ve has some corrosive substance on it, both the terminal clamp and terminal.
7. Clean up with wire brush.
8. Starts first time........ Argh
9. Puts back in garage, goes for more beer and some Star Wars Battlefront :D

Need to get the new CL pads and MTEC discs on, then get her MOT'd ready for some knockhill fun. Standing for this long has made her very stiff, be it doors, windows, seals. Meh!

Good man.

Muffin, still got yours too? Had mine almost 7 years now!

Swap my BM for it :p Do like your motor mate!

Hah, how much cash are you giving me on top :p Must admit the M Sport coupe is the only shape I'm interested in despite always telling myself I'll always buy jap

Nah, I still can't decide tbf. I love it as a daily, and I'd love to use it regularly on track too, but it's too clean and worth too much to get a bump or scratch.

BoatyMcBoatface i still got mine sometimes thinking about chaning it to something else and then i drive it. After all the mods just cant see anything vetter i could ever afford :p

Mine hit 180k today. 12 miles later the engine went.

10years of hassle free motoring and it gave up after coming off the motorway. :(

One of the best cars I've driven and no idea what to get next :(.

Think it's spun a bearing. Engine was 5 bars when I got off motorway and was a little noisy. Probably bearing wear meant it was running a bit loose.

Hot engine today I guess as it was so hot and muggy on the motorway

Definitely not worth repairing. I have pretty much run it into the ground and always joked with people that I'm keeping it till it blows up.

Will consider options but I feel sad knowing I won't drive it again so maybe like a pet dog. I should go out and buy another quickly :D

You'd probably do pretty well breaking it for parts. I know you joked about running it until it died, how rough around the edges was the car?

Even at inflated summer prices another S2000 doesn't seem like a bad place to put your cash right now.

I'm sorry for your loss though.
