Type R and VTEC owners

I think it might be time to sell my S2000 unfortunately. Judging by what Rilot has just got for his, mine shouldn't be too far behind - 07 with 60k. In an ideal world I'd have the alloys refurbed and a few paint niggles sorted out, but WBAC offered over £10k online! I might put it up for private sale after a service depending on what Honda think of its value. Doubling the mileage and selling it on for pretty much what I paid for it 5 years ago would be incredible.

They may have offered that online however you won't get near that once they inspect it. Every minor mark will be picked up and will reduce the price.

Even so, all things considered I'd not be losing much on it. I can't see them taking more than £1000 off it for a few stone chips and a bit of a scuffed alloy!

About 3 1/2 years ago I bought an '02 with 68k, took it to just over 100k miles and sold it for a few hundred more than I paid a year and a bit ago. With how prices are now imagine would've made even more profit (negligible with costs etc...) with even more miles added.

I wanted another S2000 recently but given the price increases and the fact it's above a 3.0 Z4 which I contemplated last time I decided to give that a go first :) Shall see how it goes anyway :)

I'm just trying to figure out how discerning buyers are going to be... If I knew I'd be keeping this forever I could easily come up with £3,000 worth of work that I'd want to do to make it totally mint. I think I'm a total perfectionist and that would include silly things like a front end respray and steering wheel re-trim which really don't need doing as a matter of urgency!

EDIT - I guess there's only one way to find out which would be to advertise it and see.

You'd be surprised! It's a free appointment, so it's worth going. I sold my old Accord diesel to WBAC, I didn't get what I wanted however I knew that they just don't sell quickly so I took their offer.

Whilst I have documented evidence of a "full geometry" done at Honda during services, I'm not sure that they've actually performed this... I think selling it back to them might be the best option!

it looks nice to me.........on my tv it has a Purple tint

Yeah it's a very bizzare colour. The registration document states Red, the official Honda colour is Deep Burgundy.

It's not red....far from it. Depending on sunlight it either looks Purply, Bronze, Reddy, Black or anything in-between.

I've sold it as I'm buying a place on my own now, so it just became twice as expensive. As much as I like my BM (for a diesel), it's not the be all and end all and the money can be better used. But once settled in a place a brand new car is likely on the cards for an easy life/warranty etc.

I've seen a few Civic's I've "shortlisted" now, I google the hell outta them and it's mad what you can find online for some of these cars, loads of dodgy ones with iffy history and sellers who are plain scammers and liars. I found a near mint standard one, google powers showed it was once extensively modified including a supercharger conversion and the seller didn't have a clue how messed with it once was. Alas, we shall see what the weekend brings :)

I'm down to an 04 plate red facelift, some mods, it needs a little bit of paintwork front bumper (lacquer peel) and drivers wing bit of a dent but otherwise seemingly very good, loads of paperwork and a 53 pre-facelift in black with full leather near mint no body issues apart from a bit of kerbing on a typically recently refurbed wheel, only 2 prev owners etc, so we will see. Prefer facelifts but these cars you really now buy on condition alone and age is now irrelevant. But I aim to pay a max of 2800 quid.

Some new brakes. Opted for these rather than the Wilwoods as some trackers said the pedal remained stiff even with heavy use. It's a bridged monoblock caliper with a 330mm disc. Few random objects for size comparisons..

The car is still on the Dyno, they have set up my meth kit on the nitrous map that arms with a switch so I can continue to run it on 98 when i've not hammering it at it will still produce 400bhp at the wheels on that configuration. 500bhp would be cool with the meth injection but i think it will be closer to 450. They are also running straight meth through a 550cc injector with no water in the mixture as the IATs are stable with my FMIC.

Classic - just as I'm thinking of selling the car something has fallen off my roof and dented the boot lid! Hopefully my friendly ding man can sort it out. Would be a good opportunity to get wheels tidied up and a few other minor bits sorted too I guess...
