Type R and VTEC owners

Yeah it is a satnav holder. Not tried it out yet but the wire does unplug to reveal a standard satnav mini usb connection and I can pull the top bit off to reveal the "ball" that goes into the back of satnavs to swivel them around.

Decided to go down the connects2 route for the aux port. Just purchased it after seeing a guide on youtube. Doesn't look very hard to install.

Was in the Honda dealers yesterday getting a tyre fitted to my scirocco R. Sat in a type R civic, quickly realised i couldn't live with that car. Very basic interior not moved on in the last 5 years or so. On the plus side, loved the seats.

Looks like a standard garmin nuvi sat nav holder, similar to the one I used around 10 years ago.

All that power a reasonably OEM brake setup.

Don't see it being an issue, it has 100HP over stock and the stock brakes on the stock car are fine. The car in question has uprated pads, fluid etc. so won't be fade issues, its an S2000 its a light car so the extra power should give no problem to the stock braking system.

Brakes
Ferodo ds2500 front brake pads
red stuff rear brake pads
RPC front grooved brake discs
rear drilled and groved discs
HEL purple coated stainless steel braided brake lines
Motul RBF 600 race brake fluid

Looks reasonable to me to be fair.

I'd be wanting bigger discs and calipers myself, only speaking from experience where I cracked an OEM like disc on mine through hard driving.

And yet loads of S2000s run standard OEM or OEM sized disks without problem.

Disks will crack when you put holes in them!

Well I am glad for those people, but I had problems with mine. I also didn't put any holes in them.

Very unlucky then, either a failed part or they did not like your pads. Brakes was never a complaint for me about the S2000 when I owned one and I know a few guys with them who have nothing bad to say about the brakes, certainly nothing that fluid and pads does not fix for track style work anyway. :)

What has the interior got to do with anything? I looked at a Scirocco R interior and I'm not seeing anything beyond basic there either, lots of plastic. It's a Civic not a German motorway cruiser.

To be fair, of all the new cars £30k buys, I'd put the Type R at the top for interior..

RE: Hasn't moved on in the last 5 years, FN2 interior is gr8 m8 - once you put a double DIN in! ;)

I never get comments like, people just like to regurgitate stereotyped nonsense purported by eurocentric car reviewers.

Just repeat what the reviewers wrote, reviewer says "When pushing the car hard we managed to get the rear to spin out".

John Smith: "yet mate I drove that car the other day, its crap, I spun it out when turning a corner innit."

So I'm now a member of the FN2 club after picking mine up a few days ago.

I 'down graded' from a mk3.5 focus ST to save money for my wedding and honeymoon and I don't miss it yet. The way the type-R drives is infinitely more fun even if it isn't as fast in a straight line, working the gearbox is magic and the steering feel and cornering is noticeably more involving.

Anyway the only downside is that the built in head unit is completely lacking in external inputs, so I'm planning on doing a double din android head unit upgrade.

Am I right in thinking that all I need is this kit:

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/con...uble-din-stereo-installation-fitting-kit.html

which includes the patch lead to keep the clock working.

Also dose anybody have a suggestion for a head unit up to about £300, looking for an android system with the ability to navigate via google maps using the data connection from my phone when required. Also the ability to playback music from a USB stick or SD card would be great.

Don't think I've put any pics of my current S2000. Hardtop is great in the winter, makes the car much more refined and the heated rear screen is great on frosty days.

First got it

I have put the wheels on from my old S2000 (and side repeaters) but not washed it for a while !

Will get better pics when I wash it. Drives much better in these conditions moving from RE050A to F1AS2. Car is completely standard other than that.
