Type R and VTEC owners

I imagine that'll sound rather raspy being stainless! If you want OEM look and sound your best bet is probably ebay for second hand parts / breakers.

I'm pretty positive a Honda will replace my Z4, But i'm torn on what Honda.

Do I scratch the EP3 itch, or continue my search for a Accord 2.4 CU2 manual which are quite rare to find, Both would get the reflash done if I got either, just unsure what.

I'd suppose i'd have to have a test drive of the two to get a feel for them and if I want comfortable saloon with a bit of performance or a fast hot hatch, they'll be my daily driver which is 50miles a day with a mixture of NSL roads and town driving.

Not sure what your budget is but with the gap closing between EP3 and FN2 prices - have you considered an FN2 ?

£10k max for me, unfortunately I'm just not a fan of it, I was toying up the idea of a CW edition car but I just couldn't get over the looks of it, if this offends I apologise but to me its a step backwards for Honda in my opinion.

That's fair enough, they've always been a bit controversial. I'm obviously a fan as I've had two FN2s incl a CW :D They can look mean with a fake Mugen spoiler/bumper set though :p
Just thought it might have been a good shout if you're dailying 50 miles.

Euro Accord CL7 would get my vote.

Honestly, I would loooooooooove a Euro R especially in CW and with the small spoiler, problem is you don't see many of them advertised about and most of them are 2003 cars with 80K+ mileage for £7k+, That's just checking AT and PH, not sure where else to look for one.

If I was to consider one, it have to have the kph to mph conversion and have covered less than 60k miles, I tend to hold onto cars for 3-4 years.

Another problem with the Euro R, 0-60 times don't seem that impressive, I seem to be seeing 7.1-7.3s mentioned a lot, which is not far off from a CU2 2.4 time of 7.8s and for the same price but a much newer car.

So i've gone ahead and bought a 2009 Honda Accord 2.4 Manual, Also got to meet the dealer's special small Honda Collection, a Red 1991 Honda NSX and a 89 CRX in white with 11k miles I think he said, both were immaculate, today has been a very good day :) I'll be picking the car up tomorrow so expect some pics.

What do you all think?

It seems the TDi North exhaust is well regarded and track day friendly but costs nearly £700! Think I'll have to up my budget or accept that any stainless exhaust is going to be a lot louder than OEM...

I had one of the eBay specials on mine for a year or so and it was still in perfect condition when I sold the car. Kept the stock look and was barely any louder than stock. The one I bought came with the b pipe as well. Perfect fit too.

I went through a lot of different combinations and settled on that one. A Magnex Twin Slash with silenced b pipe wasn't too bad and kept the twin pipes, but it was a tad drony. I had a DC Sports Catback for a while but that was far too loud!

One of R8BYB's unsilenced b pipes with the stock back box also sounded good but a tad raspy!

Must admit that I'm thinking about buying a (relatively) high mileage FN2. Any pointers? Found a great example with 136k, recent Honda service including valve clearances; looks as good as the day it was built.

K20 with gearbox is pretty rock solid so long as fluids have been kept on top of. They don't tend to break.

Check top of doors and the top front corners of the windscreen for rust.

The clutch pedal can be squeaky, that's normal and easily sorted. They can also have a noisy release bearing. There was a service announcement for 2nd & 3rd gear issues which would have been sorted many miles ago if it was an issue for that example.

For resale I'd try find a GT. That gets you dual climate, cruise, auto lights & wipers etc.
