Type R and VTEC owners

I agree about garages trying to rip you off but To clarify the coils and plugs were changed about 6 months ago and still the engine light was coming on and the scanner was giving me misfires codes , then someone told me an oil and oil filter change might help as gunk from dirty oil can cause misfires plus I also renewed the air filter
 
Where are the dipped beam adjusters on the facelift 7th gen EP Civic? I can't seem to find them and there's not much info on the web...

Do you mean on the headlights themselves or or the switch in the cabin?

Switch in the cabin should be left of the mirror adjustment on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Many had problems with this failing, I can't remember why.

If you mean the headlight units themselves, the projector ones, there will be a small hole on the top of the adjustment motors in the back of the headlight you can stick a Philips screwdriver into. That should give you up/down adjustment.

Another noob question, I had a passenger ride in an ek and the VTEC on that was loud! :D The car wasn't that loud, the exhaust seemed fairly quiet compared to what I heard in some civics.

So my question is, without doing any major internal work on the engine, would resonator delete along with some type of high air flow filter either insert or intake. Would make the VTEC sound more prenounced?

Aftermarket VTEC solenoid? It's a D16, so doubt they do one...

Isn't the cams one of the main reasons why the VTEC is so loud?
With the induction kit, I'll most likely lose around 3-5bhp? Is it bad for the engine? Would an K&N insert or BMC be better than the induction kit? My mate has EP2 as well, he did a resonator delete, but the VTEC isn't that much louder... After new year he's putting a spoon exhaust system and induction kit, so I'll wait till then probably.
The Spoon EK9 sounds mental! :D

I will admit im a bit of a vtec junkie im on my 3rd ep3 now, owned a couple of mitsu fto's as well and I love the high revving madness tbh plus the reliability.... all 3 of my ctr's have never given me any issues and for the price you can pick them up for now it is a performance bargain !!!

Few pics of my current ep3 have done a few bits to it (k100 remap is my next step) and it puts a huge grin on my face when I drive it... its my toy :)

Have not posted yet but looks like Ill be parting Honda. Two weeks ago i was driving actually carefull as i had to scrape windows and water was freezing. And well was driving maybe 20mph when kid jumped in front of Seat Ibiza (one of my fav cars) Was keeping distance ect but she broke i broke i was on downlill :/ and 0 traction slid down road in to rear of ibiza at maybe 10mph. On seat bottom bumper plastic snapped off THATS IT not even crack on bumper it not even clips jumped out... In my case Both headlights on back shattered since Tbar, Spoon sports bonned bent and hook snapped off. Hedlight buit pierced power steering hose so thats dead.

ITs first bump i EVER had in 17 years of driving every day and at work most of day. Last year Installed new Stoptech pads all around with new discs. New alloy radiator and silicone hoses 3 months ago brand new exedy organic clutch. I was working on my love for 3 hours at mates garage THAT DAY !!!
******* **** out of luck. I was driving in sown in birmingham no problems 2 months ago. Always drove it like i stole it tracked it every year and was standing in garage 6 days a week only for weekends doing 3000 HARD miles a year.

And woot managed to kill best Honda ever made My dream car that I owned 8 years at around 20mph. When ABS started kicking in and I was just sliding I knew im ****** :(

As I see it Honda got nothing for ME.
DC5 I dont like interror and its not faster than My Hornet was. And its less brutal.
EP3 well dont like look of them in general plus interror in my eyes is lacking even more than dc5
AP1/AP2 got no boot and its soft top i hate soft tops :p
CL7 great cars like the looks but again Slower and even less brutal than dc5.
CRZ love them but would need k20swapped one dont think i could find that and would be out of my budget anyway :p

So looks like next up will be 350z. Will need to throw out **** called leather out of one and put normal seats and some sensible hard suspension ( My apexi N1 was 11/5 so will ned similar ) Should be faster and younger sim limited to march 2006 models due to tax on younger ones 200% increse. But the I'm not sure if it will be as brutal and fun enough to drive. I could easy drive car without any trim inside **** my dc2 with full spoon n1 exhaust was 101db messured at track.

But not sure if it will be faster than MY hornet :( since mine has JDM FD4.7 box and upgraded intake manifold and its tuned on hondata s300. Engine since rebuild on mine did like 12k.


TRULLY GUTTED dunno waht to do supposed to get phone call from garage next week. Insured on agreed value proposed by Insurrer. I Hope they offer me some descent cash + car deal i could keeop it and fix it myself in spare time. I'w stripped front few times anyway.
 
I had to go back on anti depressants man. Thats why posting 1.5week later. I have not lost a car I lost a friend and will to live. Atm nothing cuts nothing gives me any joy. Running training gaming. Dropped some mandy last weekend even that did not cheer me up.

After all DC2 is reason I moved to Uk to be able to get JDM one. Left mates family to chase my dream and i kilked it :(

Massive depression my doctor said it's possible that I possibly will need therapy to get over this.
 
These things happen zeed. Don't be down about it. Onwards and upwards. If you can fix it then keep it. Doesn't look too bad from the picture but if not then strip and sell to recoup money and move on.

I know how you feel. I've killed two. Not even out of my own choice though.
