Types of music that you hate

rnb and rap. its just a drum beat and a black guy trying to put on an american accent trying to fit as many words in a sentence as possible.
I absolutely hate it, along with pop bands. They got no talent as they dont write their own songs and cant even sing, they sing into a computer that makes them all in tune.

Not a fan of them either. The only death metal band I can say I like are At the Gates. I suppose Dark Tranquility are ok too. But even the melodo-death/tech-death stuff generally bores me.
Hmm, have you tried the likes of Dimmu Borgir? (Song kicks off at 1:10, judge it from there)

You might like Soilwork, they are labeled as Melodic Death Metal but they aren't really in my opinion;

I have indeed heard those bands. One of my mates is a huge Soilwork fan. He really loves the whole Gothenburg sound.

Dimmu embody everything I detest about Black Metal. I used to be big on Children of Bodom, but they've gradually gotten worse over the years.

I like Dimmu still, granted the latest album was a bit of a letdown but still pumping some good music.

CoB were just awful on HCD/AYDY albums, hopefully next album will return to the earlier days (Hatebreeder/Something Wild)

I used to hate Necrophagist but I do quite like them now! :p

Lamb Of God are ace, the lead singer sounds like a right geek when he talks normally, seen him on Download highlights last night in a mini-interview. :D

I don't agree. It may have been when it was starting out, you can see where the derivative lies back when it was in its infancy. It is so far removed from music these days I hesitate to even refer to it in the Music forum, so calling it rock is, in my opinion, an insult to rock :)

It's not my opinion, it's just fact. Metal is a more extreme form of rock but all metal comes under the rock umbrella. Rock is a huge category embracing many subgenres.

As for being far removed from music, I agree there are many terrible metal and metalcore bands out there. However, a lot of metal [i.e. progressive, death, avant-garde] is more musically and technically proficient than a lot of other Western 'music'.

EDIT: I just noticed !T.O.O.H! on that list. God, that saga was a mess....

Heavy heavy death metal.
Indie
Pop
RnB in general - Although i can listen to a few things.
Taccy modern new wave dance.

Oh and whatever you call that My Chemical Romance style music, i dunno. All that stuff is dire.

Pretty much that is all !

No genre will make me leave the room but chart pop and death metal(or/and whatever Slipknot is) will make me change the station.

You've probably heard of them but I recommend some Amon Amarth (With Oden on Our Side) and Wintersun (s/t).

Slipknot is generally categorised as Nu-Metal, which isn't an accepted form of metal.

This thread has shown an interesting thing though, that a lot of people think they know what death metal is when that's not the case. No-one has mentioned a death metal band so far.

It doesn't really matter though, it's all dislikeable if you dislike it!

EDIT - Amon Amarth.. now that's more like it :p

Yeah I realised that just after posting, stuff like that band with "Corpse" in it's name, someone posted a video and it was horrible :/

Ska, i'd sooner stab myself that listen to this. Not a fan of metal either, that said i have friends who love it and have been on a couple of nights in Jillys and had a laugh so its not all bad, wouldn't listen at home though.

On the flipside, over the last couple of weeks I have re-discovered Jungle/Drum & Bass, and i LOVE it, bassdrive is playing in my house from when i wake up until I sleep.

I'd argue that Cannibal Corpse, At the Gates and Decapitation are Death Metal.
