Tyre Nichols murder

I would not be surprised if at least one of them ends up on the wrong end of some mob justice before it makes it to trial.

AFAIK US cops often live in suburbs, I think you're right about one (or more of them) cutting a deal - this is a bit different to the George Floyd case where there was one cop who went too far and others who stood by (two of them rookies)... in this case basically all of them did I wonder therefore if this team have had previous incidents similar to this, previous complaints of the same.

It's also quite plausible that cops that at like this are more likely to be dodgy, will other things come out about some of these guys and say corruption, gang links etc..

Watched the Washington Post version where they've spliced 4 video sources together and not blanked out the swearing, it's hard to believe these are were trained police officers.

Incompetent, unfit and uncontrolled animalistic thugs. Pepper spraying themselves and others, mixed, contradictory and impossible to comply commands issued. Taking turns in getting their hit in while half-blind from their own pepper spray. Uncaring paramedics not attending to the victim with due diligence when it could have saved his life.

Now comes the lying.

So you have faith that a bunch of killer thugs will tell you the truth.

What from the videos make you think that these killer thugs are honest truthful people

I don't, it's undetermined. You've made a judgement, I'm saying we don't know.

He was never arrested, he was forcibly removed from car and brutally beaten to near death for trying to escape a kidnapping.

I mean, you're ignoring the actual timeline of events, he was beaten to death after running away from them, he wasn't beaten during their initial encounter, though the Police were definitely extremely unprofessional and aggressive. I have said they are murderers and should be jailed, so it isn't like I'm defending them. I'm just sticking to what actually happened.

Well I have seen a bunch of thugs stop someone in a car, forcibly remove a person from a car, then proceeded to beat him, when he takes a chance to escape kidnapping he is chased, then caught then beaten to near death. That is what I have seen.

I am deciding not to use filters to try and justify beating and kidnapping. The victim is in no way responsible for his death.

If you're going to accuse me of "victim blaming" when I've stated multiple times the Police are murderers then you can **** off. You're clearly unable to follow the timeline of events or rationally break them down.

Well there are rumours going around that he was dating the ex wife of one of the police offers and that they wanted to teach him a lesson. Guess that's a good reason for the stop...

Yeah I've seen those rumours. If they are true it was premeditated and they are in even more trouble. Haven't seen any journalists run with this story yet though.

Saying he resisted does sound like victim blaming, however he never resisted. I am sorry but I am fed up of people saying he resisted when it is clear he did not.

He's told to go to the ground, he doesn't, he's told to lay down, he doesn't, he sits there and says "stop". Like what do you want me to say? If you don't follow Police instructions you are resisting arrest. People are saying he resisted because simply by not following the commands given you are resisting arrest.

At the point he runs he is in fear of is life being taken from him

There was no threat of anyone killing him, he was resisting arrest during the initial encounter and fled. He couldn't have predicted what would follow, otherwise anyone can apparently resist arrest and run away and just say they were scared?

I am choosing not to believe the words of a bunch of killer thugs.

I haven't listened to anything they've said, I sat and watched the video

I cannot find any legal view or media view that agrees with your views that he resisted.

The guy has extremely limited control of his body due to 3-4 thugs twice his size forcing him down in different directions.

At no point did he refuse to go to ground, however he was being forced to ground while being asked to do so.

If I was him in that position I would be weeing and pooing my self with the belief that I would end up dead, I would try to escape if there was a window of opportunity.

If I was him I'd lay on the floor with my hands behind my back

If someone is holding your arm how are you going to put it behind your back, also at the same time you are getting punched

He didn't lay on the ground, he was sat down

You can see there he is resisting, despite the officers being overly aggressive. Why is this even a point of contention? It doesn't take away from the fact he was murdered.

Diversity hiring can certainly make things like this worse, standards for tests need to be lowered to recruit (or promote) more black police or the tests will be considered "racist" and court cases brought claiming disparate impact etc.. but on the other hand having more black officers is seen as a good thing... often the chief of police will need to be black too in an area like this - in that case it's tokenism but the US media continues to push race grifting stuff and it's needed for good optics. Sadly that also mean you're not going to necessarily have the most competent people in leadership roles or on the streets.

I cannot find any legal view or media view that agrees with your views that he resisted.

Luckily, anyone who does a Google search can find that info out for you, here you go -

and how about the specific Memphis Law being used that night - Tennessee Code Title 39. Criminal Offenses § 39-16-602 and Tennessee Code Title 39. Criminal Offenses § 39-16-603

  • Individual intentionally prevents or obstructs anyone that they know to be a law enforcement officer, or anyone acting in the officer's presence and at the officer's direction, from effecting a stop, frisk, halt, or arrest of any person by using force against the law enforcement officer or other person.
  • Individual intentionally prevents or obstructs an officer or a person known to be a civil process server in serving, or attempting to serve or execute, any legal writ or process.
It is not a defense that the stop, frisk, halt, arrest, or search was unlawful.

So there you go, just a few seconds of google and there's a whole bunch of US legal views from across the country which all agree with the narrative that he "resisted" by trying to run away, none of which meant he should have been beaten to death.

And because, just like the Ukraine Thread, morons can't, don't, won't read, here's my direct unedited quote from earlier before the "oh so you're blaming the victim now" moronic comments roll in -

I would hope that everyone would be on the same side here in calling this attack unacceptable (keeping the language clean, I feel much stronger about it) and I hope all those 5 cops involved get the harshest possibly prison sentences.

I think it sadly is just another example (as per our Met issues too) as to why its critical that the people who want to join the Police are heavily screened/researched/analysed before being placed in positions which give them "power" over people because the work of thousands of good cops can all instantly be undone by the evil actions of a few.

He had to bloody run away at the first opportunity, they were going to beat him to near death.... in one of the videos they hand cuff him and continue to beat him, at the point they pull him from car it is a kidnapping.

It's fine to admit he resisted arrest. No one is defending beating someone to death for resisting arrest. You just bizarrely won't admit reality.

None of that even pertains to this case and from a bunch of statues lifted from different states.
Find a solid source that states anywhere he resisted arrest.

As soon as I saw the footage it seemed personal. Like one or more of the cops knew him. It really seemed like the main bad cop wanted revenge for something. Would be surprised if it was just a totally random murder.

Of course he resisted arrest. I don't even know how you could think otherwise.
But that is a completely different issue to being beaten to death by 5 thugs.
Do whatever they say. There's something deeply wrong with police recruitment in the USA.
