Tyre Nichols murder

LoL jesus wept.

Well i did say id be back at the next one.

Maybe if he had followed police direction he'd be alive right now, but im not sure, given EVERYONE knows how this would end, he gave a crap about his ownlife anyway.
Use of deadly force is still completely insane to any European but hey ho what can ya do? USA is run By Street Judges and until enough Americans really care to change their system then it goes on. This is thanklly not the country i live in and also really out of hands.

Absolutely 100% in this case.
The guy had proved he was a potential killer and the Cops didn't know where he had hidden the gun.
You don't see a problem here?
Honestly?

You are justifying beating someone who has surrendered. Its basically torture at that point, you want information and you use violence to get it. He has a constitutional protected right to say nothing and you think that can be ignored and violence is fully justifiable. You're wrong.

Oh for Gods sake, he has planted a gun somewhere, they need to know where it is.
What if it is actually still on him?
What if it's at a height where a child can pick it up?
What if it's still on him while he's 'surrendered' then suddenly pulls it out and shoots someone?
Honestly dude you need to stop with this woke stuff.
You're 100% wrong, he has zero rights while that gun can't be found.

LOL woke stuff, what utter nonsense. They can pat him down to see if he has it on him. They can conduct a search to find it. They can ask him and if he replies fine. What they can't do is beat him to get information. How far would you take it? Break his arm? Gun in his mouth? Choke him out? They didn't need to beat him to cuff him and they didn't need to beat him after. You can't see this is the problem. If you justify violence here then the violence against Tyre can be justified by the police. The ends justify the means.

You can't justify Tyre's beating, this is a different case, there is a gun missing and they need to find it now.
Really stop with this nonsense, it's people like you that are forcing our Police to act like pussies.
Are you a Freeman Of The Land?

Pmsl at calling it “woke stuff”

Dear god, the way people overuse that term is hilarious and cringe in equal measure.

I don't actually know what it means :)
I just find it amazing he thinks it's OK to have a gun lying around somewhere and they should treat the potential killer with kid gloves :)
Perhaps give him a nice cup of tea and he'll tell them.

Its violence. They suspect this guy, they could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first case of them grabbing the wrong person would it. So you'd be happy for a potentially innocent person to be beaten. I mean what happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Listen to yourself. You feel violence is fully justified when the officers lives aren't being immediately threatened. You failed to answer how far you would let the violence go, I'm guessing because you know there is no right answer.

Imagine wanting to make the police accountable, who would possibly want that?

I have no problem with the police answering violence with violence if that is what is required to protect themselves and the public but the second that threat is over then violence is never justified. So there is a gun somewhere, it can join the 370 million other guns, if the police want it they can find it. They can corden the area off and search for it. You would just go to work on him with a blow tourch and a pair of pliers it seems.

Don't ever become a copper but if you do feel the need the US sounds like the place for you, I hear they have some openings in the Memphis Police Department.

Woahhh, did you see the videos?
He shot at the Police and then ran into wherever with them following.
It was 100% him.
Honestly stop with this nonsense.

Anyway I'm off to band practise and I can't debate with someone who wants to treat a potential killer with kid gloves while a gun is missing.

I am afraid, as I suspected from the start, but kept my feelings to myself, Tyre would be found to be not as well rounded a citizen as his name sugests, and the actions of the police were probably based on this knowledge.

Ah so he's probably got a parking ticket or something and that's the reason that it was fair game to beat him to death

That always seems to be your go to "oh the person killed had a record, so it was fine for the police to shoot them in the back/beat them to death/strangle them"

The police aren't meant to be Judge Dredd, and Dredd was meant to be a satire and a warning on policing, not an aim.

Absolutely nothing about it anywhere on the net as far as i can see, you'd think the police would have mentioned it as well wouldn't you....
If he had it would have been the in the first sentence of the first press release from the police.

Especially as even when an officer shoots another officer in the US it's usually announced as an officer was shot whilst apprehending someone, even if it then turns out the suspect was unarmed and didn't resist or the gun went off because of one of the holsters that are liked by some police that have a tendency to have a poor relationship with some of the guns they use (and are known to cause a discharge when the gun is removed from the holster if the user isn't careful).

I think there’s some confusion.

The guy who shot at police and took a beating after giving himself up is a different case which was mentioned on the previous page (or a couple of pages back if you’re not using man-sized pages).

Unless I’ve missed something, we still don’t know why Tyre was pulled over or if he had a criminal record.
