Ubisoft FarCry 5 'are you ready' thread just shown up....

Have they fixed the major bugs yet? People on here were saying there were still big issues previously.
There's only been one minor update about a week ago lol. Nothing has happened to address any of the major gameplay issues yet. Ubi have acknowledged NG+ needing to be a thing but that's about it. The game is going to die incredibly fast without any updates.

The update is called Far Cry 6 isn't it? Don't take out your wallet too fast I don't expect to see the pre-orders come up for a few months yet

Thank you, I won't be buying it yet then. Cheers for the warning, I've no time to do company's bug teting for them these days. I'll stick to older games that work properly. Cheers.

Yet again I found that once I had four weapons I was happy with I did not bother with the rest, rarely used a companion though the bear was fun for a short while, and did not use any of the chemicals etc in my menu but I find that happens in so many games.

I'm the same as you, this setup works, don't care about the rest. In Fear I played most of it with dual pistols, Far cry it's the same, 3/4 weapons will do.

Assassins Creed, don't think I ever used bombs etc when playing.

I guess it's just that everyone plays differently so they cater to it all.

Game is somewhat ruined for me by how hectic just walking about can be. I can't even walk around for more than 20 seconds without hearing random gunshots or having a vehicle or some AI come at me... it's just non stop and kinda dumb and immersion killing.

For example you take over a outpost and within seconds of doing it there are already enemy AI driving past it or standing literally 20 metres away. Feel like they should either cut down on the amount of AI or make them more passive in certain situations.

Yeah, the whole spawn system needs a rework but it'll be too time consuming. The mad spawn is partially by design - it is reduced as you take over outposts (possibly) and kill the Herald of an area (definite). Problem is if you do the latter, then you've got no spawn at all so you can't win. I've literally got sod all to do nowadays post game completion.

The best Ubisoft can do from the top of my head is give us a spawn/aggression slider to manually control things since I can't see them solving the spawn issue. It'll take them a lot of effort to do.

My first 15mins in game I'll never forget. I worked my way to that lumber yard outpost in Jacob's region upon leaving that old man's bunker. Just getting there was sheer hell as I was walking, and following a road (I didn't know this was a bad idea at launch) and it was just infinite enemies and vehicles being thrown my way. I reached the yard with no ammo and had a headache taking over my first outpost.

The issues/bugs are being massively overblown as usual.

The resistance bar is fine - take a look at this http://gameranx.com/features/id/144...tance-points-fast-campaign-progression-guide/

The game isn't perfect, a little easy even with the hardest setting and all indicators turned off, but it's enjoyable.

Story is so so, but this is far cry, they have always been meh.

Game runs great and the couple of hours i've spent dipping into the far cry arcade has been fun. As a solo experience i'd say it's good, once you complete it and dabble in the arcade i'm not sure if its going to be a game you will keep returning too, however as a co-op experience it's so much fun.

Why is this acceptable? "Well the bar is very low with farcry so you know, its alright". The story is pants and is kinda pointless to be honest.

Its a fun game, ive put time into it but it isn't anything ill ever go back to. Its the worst of the modern Far Cry games (Primal doesn't count, that game is just dross)

Im not sure the bugs are overblown either, the amount of animals I see just spin round in circles or get stuck on a cage is quite mind blowing really...happens a couple of times an hour at least.

The fact that you need a 'guide' to show you how to tackle the game says it all - it isn't fine at all. The massive enemy spawn rate (that grants points) is so high early on in that the bar can easily be filled up in no time at all - hell it took me just 7hrs and I was then forced into a Jacob encounter and my remaining story missions voided. It is just way too fast.

Bugs being overblown? How about terrain or animals just popping up the moment you turn around? Or suicidal roadside NPC's just running into the middle of the road? I am incredibly patient with bugs but I was seeing tons of issues in my first hour of gameplay. I read about Assassins Creed: Origins receiving patches early on in after release and here we are with absolutely zero. Players are finishing the game very rapidly and have nothing to do afterwards - Arcade is a complete mess with cheats and glitches so that is mostly a waste of time for now.

I absolutely love the game but to say that the outstanding issues are overblown is a bit hilarious from my pov.

Edit: I know there is a patch that was meant to drop today...not sure what has happened or how much it addresses.

Well it's your point of view, mine is the opposite.

As I said, it's far from perfect but other than the occasional suicidal bear and a few odd spawns, mine and the few that I play with have had no real issues.

Why would I let this ruin my fun? Yes I could take to the forums and whine about the ONE time my plane wouldn't take off from water or I can just get on with it. If you are having lots of problems then that sucks, but you say you love the game, so it's good that the issues you are having have not completely ruined it for you.

When I glance over these forums you do see some seriously petty moaning though.

I am not defending poor releases nor as I happy about it, but lets face it, most games these days take a while to have all issues ironed out, this has been one of the better ones from my own personal experience.

Guide to tackle the game? Hardly, perhaps if you have never played a FPS before, it's all quite self explanatory.

This game needs a NG+/harder options - should start with all guidance turned off because i'm not sure how many people go into the options and fiddle with it

Arcade mode needs time to develop/mature

Small QOL/bug fixes

Really enjoyed this Far Cry 53 hours I got out of this.
