UbiSoft servers down today = No single player gaming

WOW

Terrible service.

All the BS they spouted before launch too.

E.A to their credit have worked well to get rid of their bad reputation as of late what with removing the 1 year download limit from the EADM Store and not using the Spore DRM on new games although with Activision and Ubisoft, anyone can look good.

Sucks for all the people who have been raped of the ability to play games they purchased but... LOL! The fact it has failed so soon after the thread of awesome the other day is great.
This system was never going to work. Another example of a game where the pirate copy will work better than the real one? Well done Ubisoft, you deserve much kudos for this.

Should feel sorry for the gamers who bought one of these games but you can't help feeling they have asked to be horsed by giving these idiots their money.

Not everyone who buys games scour the internet for every detail. Many wouldn't have been aware of the new DRM.

i feel sorry for those who didn't know about uberfails bs drm before buying, but those who knew about it saying they had no problem and the rest of us are pirates because we don't accept it....well erm take a guess what i'm thinking.:p

Have to admit I did buy Silent Hunter V despite the DRM. It's a tricky dilemma - do I refuse to puchase the game and affect the sales figures for a game that is in a declining genre and help to maybe kill of that genre for good? This is why I also bought Rise of Flight which has same drm because flight sim developers need support and encouragement to continue creating simulation products. The developers probably don't have much input into what the idiot publishers do with drm

Better you pirate the game and donate the money to the developers directly. That way you get a fully working game and the devs get all the money themselves! ;)

That said, personally I still buy my games but I'm having doubts about continuing.

I wish you could pay the developers directly, this would be loads better. Would it be possible for them to have a website and simply download their game? Then make a donation or something, maybe with feedback

This way developers could continue their work and everything would be good

That's what I said in another thread.

This is the real reason, second hand game sales are real lost sales. Pirated games are rarely a lost sale.

I agree, and i have said it before loads of times.

What right in gods green earth does the seller of a product have to something which they have just ****** sold to you.

What right do they have to say "ohh no m8 youve bought the right to play the game only (haha) but nah you cant sell it we still own it."

Sheer madness... *shakes head*

Its beyond words....well words i can use on this forum......

They wouldn't make anywhere near as much money (nor enough to actually continue making games).

It's basically the difference between the indie band selling their music from their car boot and website to a major pop band with a record label.

The pop band may be manufactured crap but they will sell millions more than the little band.

Emm, put it like that and I suppose you are right. Maybe a group of developers could get together and form to make their own 'record label' e.g. Shady Records

Steam or impulse is your best bet for that.

pretty much anyone can get a game published on those 2.
