Liverpool need to change things up, going from to 2-0 to 2-5 is just embarrassing. Good thing away goals don't count anymore. :D

They're unlikely to finish in the top 6 as it stands, they might as well just experiment for the rest of the season, it can't get much worse.

We win our game in hand on Newcastle we go 6th...

Yeah, Liverpools position in the league isn't anywhere near as bad as many are making out. If they won their 2 games in hand on the teams that have played 24 points they would only be 8 points off United and 1 point off top 4. Liverpool are far more likely to get top 4 than Chelsea for sure and I think their "chance" of getting top 4 was put at 39% recently. Just higher than Newcastle.

I am going to guess Newcastle can keep more clean sheets than Liverpool, even with Newcastle's recent run of form which has gone down the hill a little. I see more stumbles from Liverpool than Newcastle, even if they have the same points today. Between now and the rest of the season, I don't see Liverpool finishing above Newcastle, purely for the inconsistency that Liverpool has been showing and their problem in Midfield won't be fixed until the summer.

The midfield will continue to be a problem, but getting Diaz back could be a huge help if he hasn't dropped off a cliff after his injury. They really need Konate to stay fit as well, as he's had about 3 months out this season.

So glad Savage is here to give us his usual scintillating insights such as "he's a very good player", "what a save", "what a strike", "what a pass".
