UEFA Champions League/Europa League 1/2/3 April *** Spoilers ***

The bitterness is oozing out of this thread :D

For a team that are no longer a threat to anyone :D

this. Just this.

I can't believe the haters out there. I for one will be rooting for Chelsea tonight, and as I always do any english side still in the european competitions!!

You need to go for it in the 2nd leg, if you score 2 down there. Jeez...all hell breaks loose :p

I thought that was a thoroughly shameful performance by Man.U. and if they were my team I'd rather they lost than play like that, they just defended in numbers and tried not to get hammered, that's not football!
They should've been far more attacking against a better side just like Chelsea were when they won the CL, it's not all about winning you know.

Complete nonsense

Teh performances vs City and Liverpool were shameful. The one last night was full of heart, desire and trying to play to the advantage of the skills available within the team on the night.

Dont BS yourself, thats exactly how Chelsea played in certain matches to win the CL a few years ago

Sadly some of your own fans seemed to want the loss as well, as though they are disappointed not to have got routed. I thought Moyes got it right last night but now we hear how Pep has ruined Bayerns football etc etc.

A team scoring in excess of 3 goals per game has been ruined?

I think they did well to limit this team to 1 away goal and give themselves a chance. As I said at the start that Bayern team would have given ANY premiership side Manu have assembled a tough time.

People on here always seem to over state the big clubs in Europe and expect our teams to get nothing.

I thought Man Utd did well last night. They were always going to have to defend a lot as Bayern will dominate possession against virtually everyone (bar possibly Barca), and they did it well. They nullified Bayern for the most part, and created some decent chances of their own. The return leg will be exactly the same as last night with Bayern dominating possession, so Utd should go over there with the belief that can contain them again and try to score on the break or from a set piece.

I can't believe how bad Fellaini was though. I know most Man Utd fans didn't want him, but I've never seen him play that badly before. At least at Everton he would always put himself about (sometimes too much), and he could retain possession and play the simple passes to his teammates. Last night he barely made a tackle, and gave the ball away constantly. He looks like a complete fish out of water. I'd like him to do well for Man Utd but after a performance like that I just don't see him returning to any sort of form again any time soon.

'Fans' like sunama or whatever he's called and the rest of the United 'fans' that have come out the woodwork recently wouldn't know their arses from their elbows.

Everyone's crap, don't you know?

If you were being sarcastic then maybe  or /sarcasm was in order

Never watched him for Everton (in Europe) but he got a fair red earlier in the CL this season for being too physical, which has probably tamed his highly physical approach to getting /keeping the ball lol

I didnt want him, but once we had him I thought he would have been better than he has been in general in and out of Europe, but we are probably stuck with him for at least another season - just hoping next season we dont have to rely on him so much.....

Not disputing he wasnt very good last night, but to be fair I dont think he has been that good for us even in the EPL so it wassnt much of a suprise lol

Imagine if we had some great central midfielders instead of Giggs and Fellaini last night, would have walked it! :p

Despite having little of the ball, I thought we had the better chances and should have had at least 2 more goals.

Massive ask to get a result there next week but they seemed really rattled and Pep was having a moan after the game.

.

Still not sure why the early goal was ruled out - it certainly looked like they got away with a couple of similar tackles (at the same height) within a few minutes of this event - certainly in the 1st half. Personally thought the defender was a yard or two too slow even allowing for DW's foot

Only mittigating thing being it looked like Neuer stopped playing to the whistle (or a couple of seconds before the shot)

Thoroughly disgusted with the supposed best team in Europe/the world and their rubbish display last night. Anyone would think that both teams have an opportunity here

In seriousness, I was looking forward to it being a hammering, it just didn't happen. Had they got the early goal it might have been a different story but at the midway point of the first half it looked like they had already run out of ideas.

I did think it was pretty **** the way Rooney dived to get Schweinsteiger sent off, but it was funny seeing his face after the red card. Thought Valencia was very lucky to not get sent off for his challenge not long before that.

If you were being sarcastic then maybe  or /sarcasm was in order

You really need it pointing out to you, even when it's that obvious?

Valencia should have gone, two stupid tackles that should have both been yellows.

As for Rooney diving, I have no sympathy for them, we've had various decisions go against us whilst playing Bayern so **** them.

They also have Robben playing for them, who as we know, will go down like a sack of **** if he thinks he will get anything from it.
