He kind of jumped in with studs up anyway as a block, then decided after landing to kick out hard with his other leg right through Juanfran. Absolute certain red card. So blatant, not a tiny little kick but pulled his leg back and kicked high up into him.

Was this right on the Athletico back line in the first half. I thought I saw Suarez kick at one of the defenders right at the edge of the screen but the commentators didn't pick up on it and there was no replay.

Meh, if not Suarez it would likely be someone else, Suarez should have got a straight red for the kick, probably one for the punch, I can see that one would potentially be less obvious as a punch rather than just a shove to the ref. Should have been off and instead scores two goals to change the game.

Yeah, kicking out like that isn't a red apparently and even after acknowledging that he should have got at least a yellow he then glosses over the yellow he has in the second half. Apparently he wouldn't do something stupid when he was already on a yellow...
