UEFA Champions League/Europa League 8/9/10 March *** Spoilers ***

Their was some story about Crouch and why he is so crap at heading/wining the ball in the air, when he was younger he was above all kids in , so he never had to jump and just stood still and nodded it in, not sure if its true but considering how bad he is, some truth must be in it.

Not just that but basic biology.

Humans jump by their legs, they need strong calves and thighs. He has scrawny chicken legs that provide almost no explosive power at all. With this power you can develop control and technique, which Crouch has always lacked in the air.

Sure he's a tall target man - you fire enough crosses into him, he's bound to be able to score a few.

If Crouch's problem was winning headers then that story could be plausible but his problem isn't getting on the end of things. The problem is he's got a sponge head. He doesn't head the ball, the ball hits his head.

Nah, We will get Barca.
We drew the hardest group.
The We drew the hardest possible team from the 2nd seeds.
Now the hardest team in the quarters?

but we wouldn't want it any other way

Meaning no disrespect it's looking likely that Spurs wont be in the Champions League next season so yeah if I was a Spurs fans I'd want the biggest and best ties rather than potentially go out to a Shakthar or Schalke.

TBH I wouldn't count Spurs out should they face Barca, they have the unknown factor and if Bale gets over his injury they've got a player the whole of Europe will fear. VDV needs to get fit for you as well.

Where the hell has Sandro come from? All of a sudden he's looking like a great midfielder, the exact type of midfielder you need if you're facing Barcelona.

If you're a foot taller than everyone else, why would you jump for a header? Isn't it better to plant your feet on the deck and get some direction behind it instead? Crouch is third in the all time heading stakes in the PL. He's not good at jumping but he is good at heading.

Anyway, who cares. Not a great game but Spurs are through. Who predicted 1-0 over two legs? Anyone? :P

Can only echo the comments about Sandro. Quality display tonight. Huddlestone is going to have to work hard to get back into the Spurs line-up! Great to see Bale slowly get back to fitness too.

I thought this interview was Defoe's Rizl4 moment. Clearly it wasn't! :D

he's certainly shone when given his chances this year. wilson and huddlestone got a lot of work to do to compete. he made up for modric's sub par show tonight.

This is an exilerating season to be a spurs supporter. Such incredible results and matches. Peaks and troughs all the way. But what peaks they are!

Kind of makes you wonder if Gallas, who plays through injuries and missed less games a season than really any other CB we've had in ages, would have made the mistake Koscielny made in the CC final, or if he'd have given away a penalty like Kos or simply fallen on his ass last night like Djourou did before the 3rd goal was it.

Great goal line clearance, the guy is a rock, a winner and the type of personality you need on the pitch, a real leader. If you recall even after Cesc was the captain loads of players said it was still Gallas who led the team, who people are now questioning if they are leaderless.

You had a few Arsenal fans going on and on, oh Gallas wasn't the players favourite and him and Nasri hated each other, so the hell what, everyone works with people they don't get on with. Arsenals season with Gallas in the CC final and the game last night could have been totally different.

Well done to Spurs, though they rode their luck a little with a goal line clearance Milan despite having a lot of the ball didn't create enough chances, certainly looked threatening but too well marked and I think really not good enough delivery from especially the left back, but wingers/other fullback aswell.

Spurs did well, mostly didn't panic, and created some chances of their own, certainly wasn't played exclusively in Spurs half.

Woulda been nice to see Milan get a goal and take it to extra time, get the game moving a touch faster. Definately a different Milan performance to the first leg.

They are all pretty decent in the quarters, never an 'easy' game.

True, although seems that bar Barca, none of the 'big' teams look particularly strong this year Then again it's not till you get those huge matches that some of them start producing their best performances. Still, only feels like there's really one team to avoid, and any other game any team should feel like they have a great chance of winning; even Jose's team doesn't have a decent enough defence to throw a spanner in the works this year.

I am slightly amused by the fact that when we played Wolves (only watched the 2nd halve) but we looked like conceding at any time, yet to be honest Gomes had very little to do tonight. Dont know why Milan with 20 mins to go didn't start lumping it to Ibrahimovic and take a gamble.

Modric was quiet tonight, and gave the ball away quite a few times, very unlike him. Have a feeling he was ill, after seeing him come off against Wolves it looked like he was coughing his guts up. VDV just coming back so can excuse him, same case with Bale. Lennon looked dangerous 2nd halve, the rest defended admirably.

That's a good point tbh, last season I think it was at this stage that Inter knocked Chelsea out and they looked a very good side then, they're a shadow of that this year and may not even make it past Bayern who themselves are only a worry if Robben is fit (which is next to never)

At the moment I'd say it's gonna be between Barca, Chelsea or maybe an outside bet on Real who while the Jose factor doesn't seem to be as big as it was at Inter as La Liga is only a two team league it's hard to really comment on Real Madrid against a top team as they've only played one so far this season.

Gomes did his best to gift them a couple of times tonight, never fully trust him.

He's reminds me of a clown in a circus. Flapping everywhere, poor decision making and this isn't the first time we've seen him do stuff like this.

I don't rate him as a keeper at all.

I have to say the AC Milan forward where absolutely terrible especially zlatan ibrahimovic the man doesn't even understand the offside rule . I still can't believe that barcelona paid a fortune for him . I think he is a very selfish player and at times if he had of passed to robinho or pato then AC Milan could have scored .

Gallas has been brilliant for Spurs this season. So much so that not a single Spurs fan even remembers that he played for Arsenal.

Getting him in was a great bit of business.

Having said that, great to see King on the bench. :)
