UEFA Euro 2016 Group B ** spoilers** (England, Slovakia, Russia, Wales)

No you're not. Are you really trying to compare the stature of Ronaldo to Milner?

No, absolutely not.

Ronaldo, most creative player in the Portugal squad last season, Milner, the most creative player in the England squad last season, Ronaldo missed a penalty and has had more shots than the whole Northern Ireland squad. Milner, a contributing factor in Russia scoring. Both shouldn't play then.

You can't really comment on stupid questions when you asked whether Danny Simpson should be in the squad as Leicester won the league.
Although mine was quite clearly sarcastic.

@Trusty, if you really want a response; Ronaldo is talisman for both club & country, Milner is not. Ronaldo has the ability to change games on his own, Milner does not.

Well, he's obviously a bit of a talisman for Liverpool though.

A dismal match, but at least England got out of the group stage this time around. The only way is up, right?

Essentially it doesn't matter too much about winning or not winning the group. If you want to win the trophy you have to knock out all comers. Sometimes a good quality team who want to push the game are easier to play against than a minnow who just want to stack 11 men behind the ball.

Of course we all know how it ends .... a quarter or semi final loss against Germany :D

As for Wales, simply stunning and they deserve all the praise that is coming their way. Can't wait to see how far they can go.

Well yes but you cant really compare anyone to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is also the reason Portugal have been poor in this tournament.

I don't blame England for drawing yesterday and a lot of you are pessimistic miserable old farts.

Let me give you an example: last World Cup a fantastic Argentina side absolutely struggled against a poor Iran team. Iran attacked very few times. Most of the game was spent with Iranian players bunched up in the box defending all Argentinian attacks. This frustrated Argentina even more and in the end Argentina only managed a very late goal. Argentina had so many attempts on goal but none of them went through simply because Iran were only interested in holding Argentina.

All top teams struggle against lower end teams. It happens in every single tournament.

Now that we're through to the knock out stages a draw is no longer acceptable and we should now see England flourish.

The result yesterday was "OK", Svk parked the bus. Chanelling the spirit of Mourinho.

If we'd beaten Russia comfortably like we should have, then this game would have been irrelevant. That should be the game everyone looks to, not the Slovakia one.

Yes teams park the bus but good teams adapt to the situation and plan for these events. You don't continuously run into the wall in the hope that it will eventually break, you find a way to go around or over it.

As for Argentina, you confirm my statement, good teams find a way in the end, look at france and Spain. Good teams that adapt.

We might as well have a six year old in charge picking the most famous players because his mates thing they are good.

Well said. The interesting tests will come against teams who actually come out to play. If our defence can hold out and we can nick the first goal, we can beat anyone.

If.

I'm on the same page as Ricochet on reflection.

We have played three teams who have been shameless in their desire to park the bus and not play and football, in both the Russia and the Slovakia game we were a little luck away from sticking a few past them.

I don't think Roy has done well and he tends to exacerbate rather than fix any issues we have but I genuinely believe against teams who actually want to play football we should do better. Mind we will more than likely play Iceland/Hungary in the 16 so we need to work on breaking teams down, despite his **** form I would give Barkley a game over Alli against a Hungary/Iceland as he has the flare to open up tight defences.

All in all though, we are through, we should more than likely reach the last 8 which was most people's expectations anyway so we then take on whoever we get and go for it.

I find the people who call for Roy Hodgesone's resignation hilarious.

Wayne Rooney, England captain, and someone who is managed by Roy wants him to stay as manager!

I suspect those people will argue through their teeth because they know better than Rooney right!?

I find your support of Hodgson hilarious.

I also find it hilarious you're using Rooney, the current captain, as an example of why we should stick with the manager.

I think its more to do with Hodgson being completely out of his depth and bereft of any tactics or plan. His subs scream of someone without a clue and is simply "going for it".

He is everything that is wrong with football. His boring, slow defensive football has been awful to watch for his term with England, his lack of a plan A never mind a plan B is poor and the fact that a dinosaur manager with ZERO major honours is being paid the best part of 4 million a year for this is hilarious.
