Do England have too many good players? Not world class as I think England have 2 and ones running through treacle at the moment.

Scotland looked well drilled, they know their limitations and play within that. England have an abundance of good players so its like they are trying to fit them all in. Every poster in this thread would have a different 11



Foden and Sterling had a similar amount of touches...both lost possession 11 times. Sterling had a 93% pass completion rate compared to 80% for Foden. Grealish lost possession at a similar rate and has a worse pass completion rate then Sterling so i dont agree with this at all. Where Grealish beats them both is defensively though. Won every tackle.

You can have a 100% pass rate if your passing Backwards like he was. He did put a few nutmeg into the box so some credit, but frankly you just can't see him pushing last a player and putting in the vital pass. He's not strong enough. Grealish can have a lower pass rate but he just look more likely to win the ball, take a player on and put someone through. Stats do not make the player.

Our problem is we are too slow, we don’t shift the ball quickly enough which means we allow teams to get set then we inevitably play it backwards. It’s garbage football, dross to watch and ineffective unless you’re playing the minnows. There’s no bravery, everyone wants to play it safe and too afraid to make a mistake. Only Grealish is happy to take the ball in a bad place, or turn and run at people. Southgate obviously doesn’t like that.

It was obvious at the last World Cup and it’s obvious now. The easiest run to the Semis in history and being beaten by a very average Croatia team shouldn’t be applauded.
