I can't understand why Sancho hasn't played a single minute yet. Injury? Can't think of any reason why he shouldn't have played in both games.
Southgate likes to stick with his favourites.
Sad state of affairs if the case. So much young potential in this squad that's underused, not to mention those he left out completely.

Chuffed that Saka is starting, rate him really highly.
A little bemused by retaining two holding players, although arguably switching Foden or Sancho in for one of them may be a little too aggressive. Ideally I'd have Mount plus one holding player in the centre but obviously he's not available. With him out, it suggests that no JWP was a mistake.
Undecided on Sancho / Sterling. Sterling is much better than he gets credit for and delivered against Croatia, plus this team is mega inexperienced anyway. But I'd love to see Sancho get some minutes.

Remember this tournament is off the back of a very crammed season. Foden has played both games, we don’t even need to draw to get through. This is a nothing game so you can understand resting certain players. It happens all the time in the league. Chill.
