Not sure I have ever seen a ref be biased really. Yeah they get stuff wrong but not biased. So far this tournament I cant think of many decisions they have got wrong, even the ones that appeared dodgy were 50/50% I reckon.

There’s only one of them with a team who will potentially be left in the tournament. Surely if any of them were going to be biased it’d be the Spaniard. In general, Germans aren’t as petty as the English in my experience, let alone German referees.
 
Still. Wouldn't it make more sense that all the matches were refereed by mixtures of nations, rather than a single country like this. Just in case some of them do decide to be less than perfect.

Not worried about the refs; I'm sure they'll be professional. And as you say, it's mostly (some of) the English that are stuck in the "Two world wars" mentality.

Really, I have seen loads of refs who allow one team to get away with murder whilst pulling the other team up on everything.

Either they have just had a really bad day at the office or they were biased in those games. It wasn't even comparing apples and oranges, they were allowing one team to get away with everything and penalising the other team for exactly the same thing.

Bias is of course very hard to prove without being able to talk and discuss it with the ref. Perhaps there was a good reason for it.

Probably a language barrier issue.

The ref's in general have been good so far, just the red card from the kicking the ball was ridiculous decision, made it 1000x worse slowing down the footage.

Ditto in more than one match. It's disgusting.
 
did that guy just wrench his leg because there is no grass run out around the pitch? It looks like astro turf or something. Bit weird if it is.
 
I'm really struggling to get the teams right way round. I keep defaulting to seeing Swiss in white and Spanish in red which is the wrong way around.
