Gotta love all the illegitimacy claims thrown at the pro-Russian votes (admittedly they look dubious) yet a guy most of the country haven't heard of manages to get >50% of the votes from a field of 20+ candidates during a civil war (which means most people who would have voted against him were unable to) and it's all good >.>

A guy most of the country haven't heard of? He was first elected in the Ukrainian Parliament in 1998 and he has held various positions since, as well as being one of the richest men in the country. Yes, totally unknown.

I'm curious, what exactly are you saying? Is the OSCE part of a world wide conspiracy?

From your link:

KYIV, May 26 /Ukrinform/. The newly elected president of Ukraine is legitimate for the entire country, including those citizens who could not vote in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, Joao Soares, the Special Co-ordinator who led the short-term OSCE observer mission, said at a news conference in Kyiv on Monday.

And they say that despite pro-russian parties/candidates being banned from running for election? and ballots not even being done in many pro-russian areas?

lol.

Source for pro-Russian parties/candidates being barred from running? I wonder whose fault it was that the people in eastern Ukraine weren't able to express their right to self-determination?

My interpretation at this stage isn't that they're officially Russian army tanks - no doubt the "rebels" have bought these tanks from somewhere and driven them from wherever to Ukraine. The shroud of Kremlin plausible deniability remains in place. One imagines if Russia were to undertake an bona fide invasion of Ukraine they'd do so with more than three tanks.

The charged leveled at Russia seems to be that they failed to stop these tanks from entering Ukraine - which they could easily have done if they really wanted to deescalate the conflict.
