Does it need to? :/

Any move away from the dollar in international trading is by definition an "attack on the dollar"

There is no intention to use said currency for international trading - the article itself makes it quite clear that any use of such currency would be internal.

It's just tinfoil hat rubbish yet again.

I'm sure the Federal Reserve is quaking in its boots. Wait - isn't your view of the world that the US attacks these countries after they introduce a new gold backed currency? Well didn't the US start attacking the Islamic State well before today?

Thanks to years of QE, the U.S. dollar is no longer backed by gold stashed in Fort Knox.

Odd scale, fighter looks too small to me in comparission

Its a tricky one because of their relative heights and the height and focal, etc. of the camera - they are probably in a lot different positions relative to the ground below than it looks - they could be as little as 1km (straight line distance) apart in that image.

EDIT: Edited my original post as it won't be that extreme range.

This is a classic example of the thinking behind random conspiracy rubbish. You read a random idea you like and then that's it.

NO currency is backed by a gold standard anymore. The US Dollar stoped being backed by gold in 1971!

It's an Su-27, doesn't change the fact that both countries have them, and the picture is fake as ****

Does fit the profile of a Su-27 better - the original video was supposedly verified as a Mig 29 by a "military expert" so I assumed they knew better than I did :S

Picture of Russian plane shooting down the Boeing.

i know the pic is fake etc, but do they not seem insanely close together to be firing a missile while flying straight at the target?

its like 10-15 plane lengths apart surely thats only a second or two of distance at those speeds?

that pics been ripped to shreds already

its not even the right airliner (777 not 767 in that pic) not in malasyia airlines livery either - and its been found as a stock picture if you google "boeing from above" on google images and then spliced into some maps

Yup. The picture looks good, but when you actually work it out, it makes no sense.

The image has already been discredited. The cloud formations match Google Earth exactly and the fighter is on the wrong side... the damage was to the left flank of the commercial flight.

If the missile detonated on proximity rather than hitting the airliner it could have past it then exploded on the other side.

most missiles do explode on proximity but they dont go through something and then explode. its not an anti tank weapon. the weirdest thing to do with the missile would be that it looks like its under the range for even average arming distances.

you know disregarding that everything else about the photo is wrong as well :D

Not saying it would go through it but its not atypical of an air to air missile to go past its target slightly before detonation, the exact range in that image is fairly hard to determine (none the least due to most likely being fake).

EDIT: According to wiki the most commonly used aa missile on the su-27 has a minimum engagement range of 20m (probably not recommended) and radar proximity fuse and the other 300m minimum arming range.

Not as bad surely - corruption isn't nearly as big a problem in the US as it is in Russia, and when was the last time the USA annexed part of another country?
