Why would Russia cover up there war crimes now it clear to see plus the west is not going to directly get involved in this war to stop them which means nobody will be held for account of them anyway?

Official rates, or market rates?

Official rates are pretty meaningless although RF would be thrilled if anyone pays anything at the official rates.

The Russian central bank has been pushing up the Ruble. However they are banking on Inflation to cause a need for lower cost gas/oil to drive customers bank to Russian fossil fuels thus payments in Rubles and thus stabilise the Ruble.

OPEC are happily profiteering by not producing more oil.

If you look at the almost full storage reserves in Russia - that shows more production than demand. Hence they'll attempt to use price war and undercut OPEC and Iran. Also this allows Russian partners to profit. It's partly the Kremlin saying "we got oil you don't" and to try to tempt people back but the reality is oil only provides a revenue as cashflow if it's sold. Nobody wants to buy Putin-Rubles.

Even Putin's 'friends' simply want cheap oil and not have to ask the questions if it's blood-oil.. the once partners don't seem to be very cozy.

Given Putin had something like 20-30% GDP in gold reserves prior to the "special operation" he has some leeway to hold up the Ruble whilst he goes to find foreign opportunities and trade (sounds like Jacob Rees Mogg). I suspect he's also betting that in the 5 years time he has additional reserves of resources from Ukrainian territory on land and sea.

lol accidently typo but still it shows the type of warfare the Ukrainians have been fighting in the last month. From what I can gather they will need all the tanks they can get to fight Russia in the east as there aren't as many urban area's to strike from and the terrain is relatively flat.
