You want sympathy and compassion for Russians invading another country and committing the war crimes they are. Who's side are you on
Without putting words in his mouth I suspect he’s not a fan of advocating the deaths of pows. Neither am I for that matter.
I’ve zero sympathy for Russian soldiers killed in combat while they’re invading Ukraine. That ran out very quickly. However, there’s a world of difference in that and being happy about the killings of bound pows who had nothing to do with atrocities committed by other ***** in the Russian army.

And how do you know this? They all know what is going on, they are there and can see it for their own eyes. This hasn't just been one isolated incident in Bucha, this is happening all over Ukraine.

I would treat POW's well because it makes enemy surrender more likely. Not because I care about their feelings or who loves them, but because I woukd rather my enemy surrender than fight me to the death.

Same here. I would treat them with respect and provide comfortable detention. Possibly give them plenty of vodka, monitored calls to family where possible and secure. etc.
It makes the job harder for Ukraine.

If word gets to Russian soldiers, they will fight to the last bullet. Why surrender if you'll be killed anyway?

To be fair, you should never surrender or be captured because you have no control over what happens to you (haven't you seen 'The Recruit') ;) People in this thread earlier were saying Ukraine should surrender to stop the killing. Then all you get is rape, torture, and pillaging.

Just seen the dug out trenches around Chernobyl from drone footage, what an extremely unpleasant way to go... I wonder if there's some strategic value in actively irradiating borders to protect them?

It's a fair point, but the Western way of war has focused on ensuring rights of POWs precisely to minimise the tendency of surrounded forces to fight to the last bullet.

I would say these people aren't POW's because there is no war. It's an illegal invasion. Ukraine isn't at war with Russia.

These soldiers have either murdered, raped, tortured innocent civilians or they have stood around and gone along with it. You both have a lot more self restraint than me.

As the Czech Republic given tanks to Ukraine?

I saw a couple of reports yesterday. But it doesn't seem to be widely covered in the media, so I'm wondering if it happened or not.

"Russians = bad so it's OK to murder them" - said by people in here who are then complaining about the Russians saying "Ukrainians = bad so it's OK to murder them" and yet somehow don't understand that people saying either statement are pyschopaths.

Happily a good portion of the replies to these idiots are putting them straight, which is refreshing to see.
