They were and are helping Russia who started by building up forces and claiming peaceful intents.

Belarus is trying to help Russia without getting it's own forces involved but also without annoying Putin enough that he'll do something. My interpretation is that this lets Belarus commit its forces somewhere they can stay out of the fight.

That was my thought too. Lukashenko must be having a twitchy bum time as he realised he's likely backed the wrong side, but as always - we'd need to see whether the troops really move or its just smoke and mirrors. Its not that long ago he needed Russians troops' help to suppress riots in his own country.

So you want them to trash their economy but never mind they will be OK in years to come.

Unfortunately, unlike the UK, they have adults in charge and are not going to damage their own country.

True.
Germany the sick people of the eu.
Will keep paying russia 110 mil euro a day....that will show putin not to mess with germany.

I get the impression Russia was hoping/intending to use Belarusian forces to cut off Kyiv to the west, being a little less sticky than putting Russian troops opposed more closely to the Polish border and that not happening is part of the reason things haven't gone so well for Russia.

From what I can make out Ukraine had 2 heavy armour brigades held west of Kyiv, near Zhytomyr, and amongst other reasons Belarus probably didn't want anything to do with that :s

I think Lukashenko thinks that his forces will mutiny in large numbers if they are asked to fight Ukrainian forces. Even more than Russians, Belarusians see Ukraine as a sister nation.

Ukraine will give them a little helping hand, tommorow at 5pm local time 1/3rd of gas to Europe will be shut off by Ukraine

I don't think this figure of 1/3rd is correct. 1/3rd is the total flow through Ukraine, but they're not closing it all down, rather removing flow through a particular node. Most of that should redirect via other routes.

Given the cloud colour it looks more like Nitrates going boom, do nitrate gases cause those symptoms though ?

Ammonia clouds can be pretty bad (with those kind of symptoms), more so in confined spaces, though they won't be that colour normally but could be mixed in with other stuff.

About time.
This will make the eu sit up and do more.

They're doing about as much as they feel they're capable of doing at present. Germany aren't dragging their feet, they're concerned about the future wellbeing of their own citizens who voted them in to keep them safe and secure. If the energy infrastructure collapses too early then it's not just a case of a few shivering Germans come the winter, entire sections of industry will not be able to operate until alternate supplies can be found and with every other country scrambling for alternatives who knows when that could be. Germany and other EU countries struggling to build a solution are doing what governments have always and arguably SHOULD always do, be certain that domestic issues take precedent over all else.
The real argument is that they shouldn't have put so much stock in Russian energy to begin with, but that's a different argument for an age gone by.

Agreed.

No doubt Lukashenko has seen videos of the Ukrainians smashing the living **** out of Russian forces wherever they go thanks to real-time drone and satellite and all the various AT and AA weapons supplied by the West.

Congratulations on posting the dumbest thing I'll read all day, by some margin. NATO, the famously defensive alliance is not the aggressor. The invading nation, Russia, is the aggressor. The nation that built up heavy concentrations of troops on the Ukrainian border for months, then proceeded to advance into Ukraine is the aggressor. Russia, the nation shelling cities in Ukraine, is the aggressor.

Where on Earth do these accounts come from? Honestly................
Russia is merely defending areas with russian population, from the aggressors(NATO & azov nazis). Nato(and their minions) are the ones invading and occupying russian territory, and terrorizing the russian population living there for the last 8 years.
