It's not confirmed, just rumoured that they may do this right now, I think it's more tricky for Russia publicly & politically on the domestic side because it's Azov and how they've been portrayed as the personification of Nazi's so it's a bit weird invading to kill nazi's to then let nazi's go in a prisoner swap

Not done it yet. So far, just threats. They are going hard with the line that the azov battalion is nazi.

It would be for the internal audience though.

Russia - at least while Putin and Lavrov, etc. are at the top are past caring what the rest of the world thinks.

There is a chance they will sell the defeat of Azov as a victory and move to consolidate existing gains, in an attempt to wind down the war, but I'm not very confident Putin is looking for an off-ramp here as some want to believe.

Seeing how the Russian playbook works since 2014 the first thing the Russians will do is tourture those Azov commanders until one of them admits on camera they are Nazi's and confirm everything the Russian propaganda machine has been saying since February.

Its quite interesting how some right wing parties seem to have links to Russia and/or Russian money, like the Tories, Trump and Marine le Pen. All seem to like using fake news and telling lies in much the same way

Well it ain't worked well for Putin in the UK. We have done more to ruin his day than most. Ukraine is still our friend too.
If there was a scandal to be made, I am sure Lavrov would be all over it.

It is and it isn't. Up until the invasion, rightly or wrongly Russia wasn't perceived as the enemy, pretty much as China isn't who has also donated to our political parties.

The more I look at this situation with stories of Putin being "drained of fluid," and "operations," the man is dying. The Russians clearly are going to let him have one last chance of creating a legacy then look to normalise relations with the west when he carks it in a few months by blaming him for all the madness.

Sadly it seems my earlier posted concerns in here that the rushed and I'll thought out legislation for accommodating Ukrainian refugees had some merit, as British hosts are having high rates of contratemps with many of their charges. To the extent, it is being alleged, that furtherance of the scheme could become unworkable.

The six month minimum period of hospitality has been broken umpteen times as claims of serious personality clashes, unforeseen rising food prices, excessive use of household energy supplies, bringing back newly found male friends and even insistence on bringing meat into vegans homes are just some of these disputes cited recently.

As I said, "A Ukrainian is for at least six months, not just for Easter". I suspect this situation will deteriorate further, which is a shame but people have rushed into offering accomodation, either through ill thought out generosity they find they can now not afford, or a failing means of making a quick buck for the dubiously entrepreneurial.

Sharing your home with strangers from a different culture is fraught with potential problems at the best of times, in a recession those hosts that aren't very well heeled may find they've overburdened themselves unless their guests themselves are financially able and willing to cover all the bills.

One has to wonder when the first court cases will start, egged on by the less savory elements of our legal profession seeing an easy way to milk this developing situation.

As ever the devil is in the detail, the cases you describe seem like they would mainly be that the host thinks they have some kind of control that they never would nor should have.

Personality clashes, expected, in fact they may well be traumatised
Food prices, again they are getting enough to cover this, did they see it as a way of making money?
Bringing back mainly male friends, so they are supposed to put their lives on hold, probably more chance old male in UK thought he may get some Ukrainian totty and is butt hurt they have looked elsewhere ;)
meat in a vegans home is laughable, if your an extreme vegan you would if you had more than 2 brain cells ensured that anyone you put up was of similar mindset

Seems a load of pumped up fluff if you ask me.

The courts are full of "pumped up fluff" specious cases as a long and current thread in here will testify ;)

Call it pumped up fluff if you will, but local authorities are seeing emergency homeless cases increasing due to this situation. That's what I call costly pumped up fluff.

People are sharing their own family homes and have every right to lay down firm ground rules. Bringing some bloke you've met on social media back for some sexual therapy is probably not what many would have foreseen or wanted.
