We have not seen tanks roll across Europe as in the Soviet style war plans during the cold war. The use of tanks in Ukraine has largely been inhibited by the courage of Ukraine and the supply of anti tank weaponry. Your point is as invalid as usual and just a personal attack on a politician you dislike.

Also off topic.
I'm sorry, what? It is not off topic.

I'm no expert but there are tanks currently in Ukraine and my reference to the politician was highlighting the lack of political insight and lack of attention that had been directed towards Ukraine by my particular country since Crimea was annexed.

There have been several poisonings and killings in the UK that went woefully unchallenged, minimising the possibility of tanks in Europe was another oversight because see where we are.

By all means disagree.

I don't know what your particular country is however the UK has been training and supplying Ukraine since 2015. The Salisbury poisonings were met with significant hostility on the political front, personnel and diplomats were removed from embassies around Europe and in the US once the UK identified the source. There is a subtle difference between attempted assassination and invasion of a country, despicable as both are.
Personally speaking I would advise that Russia remains in contempt and sanctions remain until at least 2050. I will be gone by then as wIll Putin, the whole rotten fascist system may still be in evidence there however.

Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic: To mark his 70th birthday, we delivered yet another gift to aggressor Putin. Another two new Zuzana2 howitzers are now in Ukraine (and much more to come)

No. Russian armour/mechanised doctrine is obsolete, tanks are still an important asset on the battlefield.

It would still work if it was used as planned.

Mass artillery strike on the target followed by a wave of tanks and mechanised infantry charging in through a smokescreen whilst the sky above is full of Migs and Hinds.

The Russian problem is that they are still using those tactics with much smaller units and zero air support. Unlike the Ukrainian troops, there appears to be no effective leadership or initiative at any level, especially amongst senior NCOs and junior officers.

I don't actually think Russian tank doctrine is obsolete. The problem is that they didn't follow their own doctrine because this is a "special military operation" y'all. Also, they attacked in the middle of mud season.

Amazing. One country launches an unprovoked attack upon another, unleashing a wave of atrocities and horror with 100,000’s dead, millions displaced and untold economic shockwaves felt across the world, but the real victim here is Boris Johnson, because somebody saw an opportunity to say something mean about him.

This just goes to show how well planned it was, and how far ahead that planning took place. You can't produce brand new stamps in a few hours, the postal service clearly knew well in advance. But nobody leaked. Now that's impressive.

Eh? That's silly and ridiculous, no the postal service didn't know about this attack in advance just so they could make some stamps.

The bridge is a big obvious target that everyone on Ukraine's side has been hoping will be hit at some point, whether they get US-delivered ATACMS missiles, or whether they take some more of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and it comes into range, or by any other means. You can design some stamps in advance without knowing about any particular operation/worrying about anything being leaked.

Nah ... I reckon it was just a god tier photoshop thread :D

Yes just commenting on the stupidity of his comments versus the horrors of war. Boris is now history.

I think I have fairly described Putin as a fascist previously and the fact that he appears only to target civilians in his missile attacks. His poor command structure and ridiculous edicts on annexing territory being undone daily.

Despite blowing up lots of Russian tanks, Ukraine keeps saying it wants more tanks for itself

That should tell you all you need to know; having a tank is still better than not having a tank no matter how old the tank is or how poor your tactics are and it's the same for Russia - despite losing 2000 tanks so far, they're still putting soldiers into 50 year old tanks because they believe it's better than nothing.

Tanks are still seen by both sides in this war as a desirable vehicle for doing attacking pushes against well defended positions
That's because Russians dont have NLaws lol
