Probably missed the memo about the 2m more rounds arriving into Ukraine yesterday. Hoping the opponent runs out of ammo is some WW1/2 stuff.

That is an interesting point, the water cooling is going to be very useful if they're putting a serious amount of rounds through. Not particularly practical to carry around but for defending a position it's got some utility at least in that respect vs other machine guns. If you use a GPMG in the SF role you'll have two spare barrels, basically, you're supposed to change the barrel after every couple of belts you get through... though soon enough all three are hot... if you're putting loads and loads of rounds through then they can start glowing a bit!

The bit about the new sights is pointless tho IMO, machine guns are area weapons, the further out you go the larger the beaten zone (area where the rounds fall), they should be operated as a pair, the 2nd guy can use binoculars, watch the tracer (or just the splash at longer ranges >1100 meters) and give adjustments.

You can make that emotional argument to support most wars though, and people often do.

Some people are pro war, some are anti war. To say the anti war crowd don't care about people being murder is quite the oversimplification, especially as more will likely die as a result of war instead of a peaceful resolution.

It’s ironic people like this will constantly talk about America being destroyed but they are the sole reason for the erosion of the country.
They don’t care about peace they want the west to back out and leave Russia to it. There are people on the left like this too, but right now you see it a lot on the right.

I'd hope most people are anti-war - but anti-war absolutist thinking doesn't hold up to the real world - sometimes it simply empowers a tyrant and furthers their aims of oppression, even if less people die maybe.

A lot of people though hide behind the anti-war position while really all they care about is not having to deal with any kind of discomfort or change to their lives no matter who else suffers, no matter even that their short term thinking could result in a bigger long term impact on their lives. Probably 90% of these people who bang on about negotiations, etc. just want the quickest and easiest solution that they think rids them of having to deal with or hear about the issue.

Gotta love the commitment to "but but but, it's all the USA's fault, so we shouldn't support Ukraine". Completely ignoring that Russia would have done it anyway. They even announced in grand style there entire bloody plan about 'the Ukraine question'.

They want the USSR land back as resources of the world run out. It isn't rocket science.

I'm not pro war, far from it. I am up for making a tiny sacrifice compared to the people of Ukraine who are fighting for their lives and country against what is pretty much a fascist state invading their lands.

They're just looking for someone to blame since I doubt anyone really believed they could target GLMRS rockets with these missiles, though maybe there have been situations where it should have been useful against aircraft/short-range cruise missiles and has peformed poorly. To be fair that's probably a combination of user error and the presence of anti-radiation missiles kind of ruining it's target acquisition.
