What if... Putin offers Iran a few tactical nukes
They have definitely got more than money. They've parted with so much of their capability, something is very wrong IMO. Imagine a (tactical) nuke strike on Israel, war breaks out in the Middle East, USA gets involved (how could it not?) in some way or other, and all of a sudden Ukraine is yesterday's news and focus of attention.

Can't see how this isn't what Putin has in mind. Always the long game... as well as the short term need to bomb Ukraine into the dark ages.

I think a wider portion of the Russian poluation know, to some extent at least, that this war isn't justified. They just don't care to speak up on it as long as it doesn't effect them.
I can confirm that MY gf leaves in an area with lots of Wealthy Russians, and I don't like their attitude towards the west. I haven't seen or spoken to a few in months. They did not care about who was sent to war. I was sitting and listening to what they said, it was pretty disgusting, this was at the start of the war.

This short video gives you some idea of just how bad it is for Russian foot soldiers at the moment. This prisoner claims his whole platoon of 20 men were killed in the space of 1 minute of fighting.

By the sound of him I recon he is an ex convict. He refers himself as the person, who lost his ways. Most likely he was taken by PMC "wagner" of yevgeny prigozhyn (a cook of bunker rabbit). They are getting rid of folk that are a waste in their terms.

He has that 'look' doesn't he.

Looks like new Ukraine gains have dropped quite significantly, as the weather is turning I can see it being spring before any major attempts at advancing by either side.
With all that time to build defenses and use the conscripts to hold locations, freeing up the more experienced troops to go to higher value strategic points I think these could be the front lines for quite some time to come, maybe with the exception of the perhaps Kherson front moving to the river.

In a way, a long stalemate could be beneficial overall, more chances for ceasefires and attempts at diplomacy (a dirty word to some here, I know).

Kherson to the river would be a big win.

I am not sure it was sustainable to keep on making huge gains, I suspect more likely that Ukraine is considering a strike elsewhere. You don't keep on attacking the same thing over and over, need to add the elephant of surprise.

Consolidation, supply lines, logistics and personal rotation.

They arent making the mistakes Russia did by over extending.

I think most here are for diplomacy just some understand for any kind of meaningful outcome you need a genuine approach from both sides (or your side in a position to force the other side). Don't forget Putin's denials and gaslighting as to what was happening in the build up to this invasion.
