Re-arm not so quick Russia (needs money) not sending any gas to Europe and all we are doing now is trying to stop dependence on Russian gas.

The only good to come of this mess. Now we need to stop dealing with the middle east for energy, as insane as that sounds. The writing is on the wall for fossil fuels, hopefully for despots too

But Russia would have territory so they wouldnt get in NATO.

I don't think Ukraine will enter NATO, personally, but that doesn't mean that they can't be protected by the US or, indeed, the rest of NATO. Also: the NATO entry requirement is over disputed territory, if Russia and Ukraine sign a peace deal agreeing a border then there is no disputed territory.

Wouldn't it just be incredibly hilarious for Poland to build defensive structures and trenches along it's borders with Belarus/Kaliningrad?

Speaking in past-tense? Poland has already started two weeks ago building defence on border with Kaliningrad

I disagree with it being 30K of their best soldiers, maybe 30K of the best forces they are willing or able to commit - but people hugely underestimate how much it is representation from their best forces vs all composed of their best forces - they've not chucked like full division or army group strength from their elite guards divisions at Ukraine though they've expended many of the most experienced regiments, etc. from those divisions (many of which have taken 90% casualties). A large amount is meat grinder from essentially conscripts.

Ultimately though I think it is more a testament to how good Ukraine's 92nd and 93rd, etc. brigades are (who haven't at all been trained by British special forces ;) ) rather than how poor Russia is.

Something I think which is being vastly underestimated both by professional and amateur commentators is how paranoid Putin is of the West's intentions and holding back from committing in full which has in many ways crippled their armed forces by sending stuff piece meal and expending many of their better soldiers - but they still have a significant amount of the average soldiers from their established armed forces - expending more from the experienced and inexperienced ends of the spectrum in larger numbers.

The worst thing about this that it just across the russia border

It is almost tragic - the Ukraine forces in that area have been working at the extent of their supply lines and the Russian forces are literally a few miles from home logistics wise.

Some footage from "3rd Battalion of the Separate Presidential Brigade" where there is actually incoming as well as outgoing stuff in the firefight :s a lot of combat footage only shows outgoing.

to supply Centurion C-RAM systems to shoot down drones

The pulsed alarm followed by "incoming, incoming, incoming" has to be one of the most ominous things - even if you have got C-RAM defence - that is the kind of stuff which stays with you long after it is over.
