I see you added this bit to your post... If that's what you meant why not say it? You seemed to be linking it in to not being able to send tanks to Ukraine, and implying we had to get rid of the aircraft carriers or tanks for some incontrovertible reason though.
Of course that is true as a broad statement but so what? Why does that mean we can't give Ukraine tanks or that we have to get rid of the aircraft carriers or whatever it is you're arguing for?

No, that is one of the advantages of the Challenger 3, it uses the same type of gun as other NATO tanks, I think we are the only ones that use a rifled gun, hence we would need to supply all the ammo for it. Where as someone mention Germany being unable to supply ammo for the Leopards but they use the same ammo as the Abrams and NATO should have a bigger stockpile available than what we have for the challengers.
We've already seen UK soldiers driving ambulances during NHS strikes and Tory claims that striking nurses help Putin. Maybe the smart move is to hang onto the tanks and use them to keep the nurses in line?

Yes, that's correct. Usually export permissions for military supplies are forbidden from further export to a third party. Obviously this doesn't stop such exports but it limits them and jacks up the price.

Might be better to buy up 10 Chieftain mk11`s - and before the `omg engines` brigade start blabbering, the mk11 was the best and was actually a very reliable piece of kit; and come with a thermal sight, something russian kit lacks
