One of the few videos of an NLAW in action - looks like it got a bit confused with the profile though and went for it as if it was a tank which meant a relatively ineffective hit on the BMP - unfortunately too long distance for accurate direct fire.

On the linked POV guy's instagram there is footage from a bit later when the Russians counter-attacked.

At the end of the video he says he'll upload the rest later, which includes them pushing fast the BMP and killing the Russian Spetnaz unit hiding in a house

It's so sad that there won't be a thicc tranche of Abrams rolling around the Donbas, but oh well at least it means European allies can adopt it somewhat quickly in a trade for their own tanks.

Jordan have 250+ Shir2 in storage (Chieftain mk13 - with V12 diesel engines, new auto boxes and Challenger 1 gun system and sights). Stick some TOGS on the side (UK has some as theatre entry standard) and give it some stillbrew, it`ll be an effective vehicle. The gun they have on them is the same 1 popping T72`s in GW1

That paints a different picture to how supposedly effective NLAW & Javelin were at the start of this campaign, really surprised they didn't manage to kill it outright and also why there was just a lone BMP with no other armour support and why the Ukrainian/foreign fighters had no armour support of their own

Top attack, unless the bmp was storing large amount of ammo in the top ofvthevturretbit ain't gonna explode - the actual warhead in a nlaw or javelin is tiny

It was in top attack mode - which immobilised the bmp

I thought top attack was the most lethal mode because armour generally doesn't have much in the way of armour on the top and it's supposed explode just above and penetrate the little armour that is there ? Seems like it didn't work properly and just hit the side taking out the track instead ?

Here is one hit by Javelin, thing keeps driving even though turret was penetrated, driver doesn't sit in turret so keeps going unless you get ammo detonation

There doesn't seem to be any penetration on the BMP though ? Maybe the black patch directly below the barrel ?

Maybe a miss ?

Maybe a miss ?

I'm assuming it is the first explosion in the drone view - which struck just forward of the engine, maybe got some transmission components so possibly was a mobility kill though in the drone footage it doesn't appear particularly active - in the related footage most of the return fire seems to be from behind the BMP's position.

EDIT: Actually mixing the sensors up with Brimstone a bit there - NLAW is a bit dumber and just triggers when it senses the armour mass rather than profile.

Looking at the BMP1 video above, the missile hit the area of the fuel tank. I suspect that only 2 survived, 1 in the turret and the driver. later on you can see the diesel fire/smoke

You have to think anyone in the compartment below the turret is mincemeat.

Explosions can be weird things - people have walked away almost unharmed at close range while others nearby have been practically vaporised and vice-versa people die at a distance while others closer survive, etc.
