Just for clarity (and management of expectations) - The GBU-39, which makes up the explosive portion of the GLSBD, has just 200lbs of explosive mass so, whilst it's double the amount in a typical HIMARS/M270 M31 variant rocket, it's very, very small for an aircraft dropped bomb (1/2 the size of the smallest current US/UK dropped bombs) so these won't be used to pound open front line defences as the warhead is just too small to have any decent effect on mass trenches etc when the amount that can be fired is tiny. Thats the artilleries job, to pound thousands of shells into fortifications day after day i.e just four 155mm Artillery rounds, of which there are literally millions, has the same explosive impact as a single GLSBD of which there are a tiny number.

Instead, just like HIMARS/M270, I think it'll be used for strikes on HQ's, supplies, ammo dumps, vehicle parks etc, but I think their success will heavily depend on how well Russia has adapted post-HIMAR/M270 introduction, as we saw good effects from these weapons when they were new and unknown but now we see very little as Russia "seems" to be getting a grip of its military, Darwinism in a war does accelerate that learning process very quickly.

Russia according to ukraine Intel has pushed its hqs and supply depots to 120km from front line outside of HIMARS range that's where there isn't so much boom boom video anymore.

HIMARS is being used to hit trenches and front lines right now, there isn't much else for them to do, but they are using a specialised warhead for the job that deposits 180,000 metal balls into the air and not the 90kg HE warhead they were using to hit depots, HQs and bridges.

GLSDB is in low supply as you've said that's why I'm not optimistic about it coming in the next package - I think even if it is announced it won't actually arrive in Ukraine for months because Boeing will need to be given a contract to start up mass production - the supplies are there at least, Boeing and the Pentagon says they have enough supplies sitting in warehouses to produce nearly 100 thousand glsdb rockets, someone just needs to give the order and pay the Paychecks

Glsdb would be a new challenge for Russia's anti air units as the trajectory they would take would be different to the GMLRS in rockets Ukraine has been using

"Allegedly Russian soldiers wearing Ukrainian uniforms attempted to infiltrate Ukrainian positions"

Wearing AFU camo, yellow arm bands, UKR flags. /warcrime

"War Crimes" have always amused me. Not in a horrible way - I just find it so odd to have arbitrary rules to follow when slaughtering each other.

"I know you both want to blow each other into tiny fleshy chunks, but don't dress up as the other team ok!"

A 200lb SDB is effective guided artilery with a bigger bang. Russia hasnt learnt, flattening everything isnt the way in 2023, as they have chewed through there arti stock piles and are now importing shells.

He has a shed load of scrap metal that he paid a pretty penny for. They might have been called tanks back in a day, but not so much now. The guy thinks that any tank is as good as new. He could be right if it was against a field, but in a war. He purchased them and just chucked the under the roof and job jobbed. No presevation been applied to them. What a nutter.

Does seem to be some suggestion there they are trying to profit (massively) from it and says in the article most need new engines, etc. but a lot of those (actual tank) hulls could be put into use for things like armoured recovery vehicles, platforms for anti-air and so on and I assume the Gepards are reasonable capable of being put back into service - something Ukraine could do with a good stock of.

In fairness, he bought them for scrap value because they were being sold for scrap, not because they were scrap. Tanks that were fully working tanks when stored in a warehouse 8 years ago should be in infinitely better condition than tanks that have been sitting in a Russian field since 1993 and were barely working when parked up.

If somebody would buy them for Ukraine (or if they bought them themselves) it would be a cheap way to get a bunch of highly capable tanks into the hands of those who need them with minimal repair work required.

In fairness, he spent a ton of money buying a load of surplus tanks that were being sold for scrap, because he was confident there would be a war in the 2020s that would cause the demand/value of tanks to rise. He gambled right and should be entitled to make some money from the venture.

Did you read the article? He admits the tanks probably need 1m euros each in repairs/upgrades.
He has already sold 46 m113 to the UK with the purpose of sending to the Ukraine.
I think the Gepards have been looked at but it was deemed they would require too much work to make them viable. The tanks might be the same but worth exploring.

Even BBC talking about another big push coming from Russia this month.
I think there's some politics at play here as US and UK satalite data hasn't shown that level of troop build up on the Belarus/Ukraine boarder. Not to say it won't happen but he's probably being colourful with the truth trying to encourage the west to send more arms.

I think he's thrown everything including blaming the kitchen sink for thier own actions.

Conspiracy theorists and the far left/right will lap it up like the crazy rabid dogs they are however, it's Russia's way of trying to sow division as they are the most vocal unfortunately.

This was obviously their next targets, after Ukraine they would have invaded them to stop them joining NATO.

Unfortunately for them they didn't expect Ukraine to put up a fight, this has stopped their plans, no doubt about it.
