I expected Russia to steamroll Ukraine in a few days, but it didn't happen for a few reasons that I doubt will change anytime soon.

1) Ukrainians are willing to fight and die for their land. (And the west is willing to supply them)

2) Russia is nowhere near as effective in combat as they appeared they would be prior to them starting this war.

3) Russia's effectiveness seems to have been hollowed out by corruption.

Yeh. Any notion that they could take on all of NATO in a conventional war is quite clearly utter folly.
 
a lot of slating the Leo 1 on reddit; sadly they are ignoring The Chieftain commentary a year ago about the death of the tank.

Short version - an armoured mobile artillery piece, is still that when as infantry you have no tool kit to deal with it, and it is used properly.

OK, so you mean the Persian Gulf War. Yes, the assembled coalition forces did outnumber the Iraqis on that occasion, but not on the battlefield. They never deployed their total manpower, and consistently fought against superior or comparable numbers.

As with the second war, victory was achieved via superior technology, firepower, and prowess... and the fact that the Iraqi soldiers were so enthusiastic about surrendering.

Coalition deaths numbered in the hundreds, whereas Iraqi deaths numbered in the tens of thousands.

These idiots like McGregor arent unique no, they are bought and paid for a long time ago.

Putin isn't stupid, he has harvested Western generals, politicians, news anchors etc and anyone else will a bit influence for years. Money talks he has bought them or blackmailed them whatever works.

His biggest prize was of course Trump, you have to hand it to the man, Russia controlled the president of the United states, how clever was that.

Thump was of course an easy target, for some reason he is attracted by dictators, probably because he wanted to be one, someone with ultimate power, Trumps dream, if he had his way there would be statues and 100 foot posters of him all over America
