There is a very fundamental difference because you can train all the different subject matter experts in parallel.

Exactly... this is like the reverse situation of the management consultant who learns that one woman can make a baby in 9 months so concludes that if they use 9 women they can get a baby in 1 month. :D

I suspect that if the conversion of pilots can be reduced from 6 months to 4-6 weeks (both as per the retired RAF AM claimed and as per a forum member with apparently 16 years as an RAF navigator also supports) then I'm not really sure what the basis is for the notion that ground crew conversion/retraining would be significantly more complicated, certainly, when pressed it's only generated a vague response along the lines of "how long is a piece of string".

The US Airforce has around 900 F-16's, the Dutch have 40. European nations do not have Fighter Jets in vast numbers to give away.

To continue on from this, where are we actually drawing the line? There doesn't seem to be a limit to the equipment we're willing to provide, after we provide Jets are we going to provide nuclear weapons to allow Ukraine to defend itself? I think providing small arms and equipment is fine, but we're currently just operating on blind optimism as if a war with Russia is impossible. Before World War 1 everyone thought a war of that magnitude was impossible because of how vast both armies were, before World War 2 no one thought Hitler was capable of storming Paris in 3 weeks and kicking our Army out of continental Europe. Everyone seems to be blind to the possibility of a nuclear war and it is ******* mind boggling stupid considering the consequences.

Hopefully the government intends to invest heavily in defence in the coming years.
To defend against who that we and allies can’t beat already?
The main opponent in Europe was the Warsaw pact. Now defunct. Russia can’t fight its way to the borders of the USSR. Who’s attacking NATO? No one.

sityeuropa back for his daily dose of derision I see. I hope he's getting paid, it would be quite embarrassing to be doing it for free.

Maybe it’s a sado-masichistic thing. “Be mean to me daddy, tell me I’m wrong and belittle my opinion. I’m such a dirty girl….”
Russia: "If the west gives anti-tank weapons, there will be severe consequences."
Rest of world: *gives anti-tank weapons*
Russia: "If the west trains Ukrainian personnel, there will be severe consequences."

Russia: "If the west supplies tanks, there will be severe consequences."

Russia: "If the west give jets....... etc. etc. etc.

We’ve really done it this time, we’re off the official Kremlin Christmas card list for good if we keep this up!

This scene just sprung to mind. Someone (with a lot more talent than me) really could do a funny video with this. Putin as Hank Azaria and Zelensky as Ben Stiller.

The Eurofighter Typhoon, and the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning.
Of those that are serviceable, there is no spare capacity to give away, CAS at recent parliament hearings says they need more for the RAF.

Plus it's taking 5-7 yrs for the RAF to train front line pilots, how long will it take to train Ukrainians pilots on the 2 systems you mentioned?

Those will get life extended as there will nothing to replace them plus there will be upgrade programmes.
Not sure about that, other nations have decided to buy new builds rather than update their T1s.

From what I've been told we update our T1's a few years ago and that is what Spanish upgrades are based on if they go ahead, so there is little new updates for ours.

I don't think we should be getting rid of them plenty of use in any near per conflict.

I'm amazed that Moscow thinks us worthy of attention.
I doubt it lol, but I often do see Russian stooges on more fringe forums I monitor just to see what the crazies are doing. They only started posting during the start of the war and only Russian news counter to the west.

I doubt we actually have those kinds of people here, just ill informed individuals.

I'll leave you with that people as if you can't believe the words of the U.S President direct quoting the intention, and another investigative journalist also leaking it.
There is nothing more to add there. Just keep living with your blinkers on.
The only person with blinkers on is you. Sometimes when everyone in the world is telling you that your wrong maybe it is YOU.
