F15's and Typhoon's flying very low above my house this week. (Nidderdale, N.Yorks). Noise is brutal. As a one-off, it's great, but wouldn't want to be on a regular flightpath.
Had a KC-135 Stratotanker flying quite low near my house a couple of hours ago - not very usual for heavy traffic like that here. Seems to be a big up-tick in military air traffic and training activity around the UK at the moment. (Outside of any scheduled exercises).
Looks like FORTE12 is RTB after a very active few hours - been up this time for nearly 24 hours which is kind of impressive.

Just posted that second clip in the Govt performance thread. Hadn't seen this thread. Absolutely excruciating. What a humiliation of the UK on the global stage.

I think she was head and shoulders above all other contenders in polls of Tory party members. Personally I'd love to see it. I think it'd be the last nail in the coffin of the Tory party.

I grew up on the flight path from Little Rissington to Malvern radar station. In the 80s it was USAFE and RAF, we had jets screaming through the valley everyday and A10s doing practice gun runs (not firing) on some local buildings. Was amazing as I was a kid, I'm sure it drove the adults nuts.

I look at flightradar24.com and UK and US planes have been flying missions to Poland, Black sea area and some into Kviv. The UK ones sometimes overnight in Cyprus base.
Judging by the amount of tankers active, often running relays, there is a ton of stuff we aren't seeing moving.

I think we need a small war in Europe that hopefully does not go nuclear. There is too many issues domestically everywhere, inflation is definitely not transitionary. A short war will turn peoples attention elsewhere, away from troubles at home. Especially if we can limit to Ukranians and Russians killing each other while we stand on sides with popcorn.
Imagine looking at Truss, BJ and Biden and thinking HMMM these people are definitely so much smarter than those who came before them 75-100 years ago...
I have full faith in them to not turn our planet into nuclear wasteland....
Din't Liz apparently say that UK government does not recognize Russian Voronezh region or something as Russian.
We are hideously unprepared if even a relatively minor defensive need was required - it will come to bite us in the rear one day. It is so incredibly pants on head.

I just think at this escalation rate - we'll be better off with a small localized war to cool off heads rather than let it fester into on all out war.
