I seen an article where it says the elite 155th and 40th naval infantry brg have sustained high loses, if these units are indeed elite then surely they are being led wrong or some very poor choices are being made higher up the chain of command wasting all these lives and we'll trained solders

One of the big problems for Russia is a junior officer problem (even section command), they never had the core there in the first place and what was there got battered in the early months of the war. One of the reasons many senior officers have been killed in the field.

It isn't so much about whether the decisions up the chain of command are good/bad but the execution on the battlefield.

Great to see Biden in Ukraine :). Sends a message to Russia and also hopefully the rest of 'the west' about commitment to supporting Ukraine. Am sure it will be backed up with continued aid.

Bet Putin is fuming :p

Hope medium & long term procurement of arms continues to be stepped up too to make sure the aid can be sustained.

What i find fascinating about Biden/American politics, is that if he remained exactly the same person with largely the same political views/policies, but was a Republican, the right would love him.

But part of that is just that a lot of federal government will be unchanged, they're still deporting immigrants or holding them at the border, Obama/Biden carried out drone strikes etc.. US State Department is still staffed by the same people etc... it's just that some of it prompted a bit of hysteria under the previous guy and less so under the current guy.

I wouldn't expect UK foreign policy to change much re: Ukraine in the event of a Labour victory (at least not with the current leader), the previous one would have been a disaster though and Boris & Wallace certainly deserve credit for taking the initiative (unlike some EU allies such as Germany) but now that Western policy in general has been shaped in favour of supporting Ukraine I suspect that the general UK approach re: Ukraine would be pretty consistent whether under the current government or a Labour or Lib/Lab etc.. coalition government under Starmer.

It’s just a shame that once again the US is stepping in to stand up to Russia when it’s at Europe’s front door. Most european countries have been far too slow to act. Great to see Biden effectively sticking it to Putin though.

Strategically, it makes sense for most support to come from a country that Russia can't reach without deploying ICBMs.

I don't understand? Biden is like the last person to show up?
