* Putin decrees that any private companies who fail to meet deadlines or refuse to take work for defence contracts will be immediately placed under state administration in the event mass mobilisation is declared
 
Here's the thing, Russia is willing to sacrifice men in a way that the Ukraine are not IMO. The AFU is being smarter in general it seems to me.

We'll see what happens. Bakhmut is the biggest fight of this war so far, truly brutal.

Seems like Zelensky is willing to sacrifice a lot of bodies as long as the money keeps flowing.
We will probably never know how many died fighting his war, but you can guarantee it will be a a far greater number than Ukraine claims.

for what? everyone knows putin isn't going to wage war on the rest of Europe. could have likely got peace and let putin have the small area he already has..


If putons so ill and on his death bed then just wait until he's gone and take it back... the next leader of Russia likely wont want to fight for it and won't want the sanctions either.


IF zelenksy wants to keep fighting then he should go to the front line like he expects all the people he conscripted to.

Remember he wouldn't let the men leave the country and forced them into the army, the Ukraines on the front line likely don't want to be there any more than the Russians, just 2 armies trapped between 2 ego maniacs

Small area?

They wanted all of Ukraine AND Moldova, there was never any legitimate chance for peace except through attrition because Putin and his Russian nationalist cause he's been frothing about for years demands the non-existence of independent states that used to be part of Russia's empire (it still is an empire btw).

So assuming you are actually in Scotland, let us know how you would feel about Scotland being invaded by say... Germany, and being told, "well... we best just let them have Scotland for the sake of peace".

The reality here is:

1) They are under attack and have every legal right to defend their own country.
2) If Russia win's, or even takes some land as part of a peace deal, the implications of this are vast. It will embolden China to take Taiwan, as "well... they'll just give in, in the end" (i.e. it's worth it). And the blatantly obvious part, Russia WILL try to take the full amount of Ukraine, and almost guaranteed beyond (Georgia and Moldova say hell).
