Does anyone think Russia’s nuclear arsenal is still functional? Given the state of their Army, Navy and Airforce; I’m not convinced they could actually deliver a warhead onto a NATO country without using DHL.
Well to be honest whether they are all functional or not it only takes a few to work when hundreds are flying.

The balance of probabilities would say that yes enough would work to devestate the world we know.

Its a mute point though because I do really believe that Putin was stopped from using a tactical nuke in Ukraine a few months ago.

I cant see them letting him use one now as they know what it would mean to Russia on a whole.

I dunno why there is all this messing about with jets, sure it takes time and money but the best option for Ukraine would be something with capability to be operated and maintained with minimal facilities, able to mount stuff like the latest US/NATO missiles and backed up with relatively small and fast AWACS with similar short take off and low maintenance.

The time, money and effort is better spent at the moment IMO providing capable high mobility SPAAG systems and sensors/radar, developing anti-drone systems both man portable against the likes of DJI stuff as well as systems for protecting against the bigger ones.

Ukraine doesn't need to be in the air to take apart Russian ground forces - they just need to be able to deny hostile use of the air to protect the assets which are doing the job - especially if their hands are tied in terms of going after the launch sites, etc.
I don't think there is any denying that planes are a huge part of war.

They can make a huge difference, firing at targets miles away and being on the way home before they can react.

Russia's biggest mistake was not getting air superiority early in the war.

I believe these new planes will make a difference simply because they will not have much competition from Russian planes so I think they will be a huge boost to the Ukrainians.

Historically, lets take Iraq, the air power USA brought was devastating, who can forget those images of the miles long columns of Iraqi armour burnt to a cinder with the charred remains of those poor Iraqi's still in their seats.

That's what real airpower can do. Not saying they wont lose aircraft but the damage they do will be significant and it wont be soft targets, what they hit will make a difference.

T64BV from mid 1980`s came with ERA bricks, similar time to the T72B getting them. T55 MV also added Kontakt-1 bricks and slat armour (again in the mid 1980`s) Most T54 are pretty much T55 nowadays anyway, there isnt a lot between the 2 anyway
Or egg boxes disguised as ERA bricks

What's the latest situation in Bakhmut? Is it still stalemate? Not seeing much reporting tiday/ yesterday.
Not much has changed, Russia has the city surrounded on 3 sides but are struggling to push through the urban part of the city. It looks like Russia has partially kind of lost interest in Bakhmut and have prioritised capturing other cities like Avdiivka and Vuhledar.

The latter of which has also been giving them a lot of problems.

So, they're still stuck? Good.
