I'm a bit conflicted on where I stand with that blogger being murdered tbh.

He obviously held and voiced some horrible opinions, I'm just not sure I can advocate for people being blown up in public places because of that.

The easiest way to explain it is I don't feel anything for his death, more so the way in which it was carried out.

It's no surprise it's happened though and it's not going to be the last of a similar nature.

Most sources seem to be suggesting it was an inside job within Russia rather than Ukraine organising it, he was allegedly pretty vocal against Putin.

Not like Ukraine is installing these windows that people keep falling out of as well.

He messed around and found out. If you want to advocate for the genocide of a people then no one can be surprised when a bomb blows up in your face

Finland officially becoming a member of NATO tomorrow. Well done Putin, you invaded Ukraine on the pretence of not wanting NATO on your doorstep and that's exactly what you've got.
I'm guessing he keeps forgetting about Latvia and Estonia.
Also, technically Poland and Lithuania too.

I agree, unfortunately it's the general moral maze created by war

I'm sure it was his own conscious choise to paint a target on himself. He knew whats on stake

But it is our choise how to feel about it.

Bomb a public figure, a journalist, in a peaceful city, in a public place

How is it better than ISIS?

At least with Crimea bridge explosion, attack on Rogozin in Melitopol you could imagine a military goal excuse. Bystanders be damned
But this?

To sum up his propaganda speech at the annexation event last year "that is it, we will win, we will rob everyone, we will kill everyone, all the way we love".
He was not just a random vlogger since he was invited to the party of annexation.
FSB has run out of stairs and windows it seems.

If you see some Russian propaganda around the place, there's a good chance it's already been refuted by EU vs Disinfo:

They have a ton of excellent resources, and they're always up to date with the latest nonsense pronounced by the Kremlin.

Going to be interesting to see how the Russians respond to this.

As scummy as this guy undoubtedly was, I am not a fan of assassinations and extrajudicial killings.

The guy was part of the propaganda machine that promoted murder, rape and kidnapping. I wouldn't have any issue with the talking heads we see on RT suffering a similar fate. They are like the civilians who worked for Joseph Goebbels.

The atmosphere is going to be really welcoming for these players :D

Maybe the government should step up and deny them visas to enter. The AELTC should hang their heads in shame.

I imagine they will be well received. After all Rybakina and Bublik still played last year. Both are members of the Kazakhstan tennis association so got to play last year. Both born in Russia, raised in Russia, and both still live in Russia. Rybakina won the tournament, and she's very well liked. Sabalenka (Belarusian) who won the Aus open was well received by the crowd in all the tournaments she's been playing in. She said she had faced some weirdness in the dressing rooms though from the entourages or other players (not the players themselves).

Medvedev, moved to France many years ago, lives there with his wife and child, yet unlike Bublik who still lives in Russia, wasn't allowed to play Wimbledon last year. He's won 5 tournaments this year so far, including Miami last weekend, and has been well received.

It's all a bit of a mess.

He reaped what he sowed.

He wished deaths on Ukrainians so death came to his door.

The will now know that hate has a price and make others think twice.

I prefer to see him as a war criminal getting what he deserves.

Integrating NATO ordinance in to ex-Soviet aircraft is no trivial task. There is a huge about of data transfer between the weapon and the aircraft's systems. Yes, once launched a lot of these weapons are fire-and-forget but up until that point, all the target acquisition and designation is done by the aircraft's systems. You'd be looking at either replacing large sections of the weapons systems and avionics, or piggy backing a bunch of stuff on to the existing systems. Then you have issues such as interfacing with the Russian radar and IR systems, control and integration of a TILDS etc.
just spitballing and probably way off base but wouldnt it be better to lend western planes anyway rather than figure out a way to jury rig western weapons onto soviet planes..... whilst not a slam dunk, that sounds like a giant potential 1st step for the Russians if they were able to get some of those weapons on the black market for them to use against who ever they wanted.

better to let them (Ukraine) have the whole lot inc training, and then once the war is over take them back again to be honest.

4th part of the tank and that trench is out. Does seem crazy not having infantry in closer support, they turn up later in a BNP but another ATM had already just missed the tank again. Not a good day for the Russians though.

Finland to join NATO tomorrow.

Current mood of Finland:
