Ukraine Invasion - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

For anyone interested, the guy who did an amazing video last year on what tanks Russia have left to try and get back into service has done an updated video and it's really really good:

Really good research, though Russia never said they'd put 800 T-62s back into service that was a translation issue from the original statement it was 800 including T-62s (I think they made a statement at some point claiming 600 T-62s but I'd have to double check). Though also correct on his second point there that T-62 refurbishment has already began. Also slightly underestimates number of garaged tanks - still some T-90s garaged up not included in his numbers though the impact of the T-90 in Ukraine has been less than significant. Probably only a few hundred of those "good" T-72s are in a shape to put back into service any time soon (many A or B and/or setup for export) but still a fair number of T-80s kicking about in BV or BVM config.

As I've been saying people look at the T-62 and T-55s, etc. as purely desperation but the truth as the videos shows is more nuanced.

I think the same really extends across most other areas of the Russian military - at current tempo they can sustain about as long again as this war has been going on for plus a little bit more from production which so far lags far behind demand. Which doesn't really make sense as I don't see any intention Putin intends to stop any time soon - hopefully he has made the catastrophic miscalculation of waiting until stuff is actually running out before ramping up industry towards the war effort but that doesn't seem very like him but then a lot of this war has been quite different to the approach of Putin of the past.

So these are the leaked documents regarding Ukraine's offensive

It staggers me that anyone would be so utterly stupid as to put these on the Web. Seriously, what is wrong with people? They should find who has done this and throw the key away.

If it was done deliberately it would be posted on the Warthunder forums. They have the proven track record of leaking classified documents so would add to the credibility of the leak. :D /s

At this point I think the Russia Orthodox Church is just as bad.
You are aware the Orthodox Christians attacked a mosque recently? This will just set the caucuses on fire again

For sure, the Orthodox Church is little more than a state sponsored criminal gang. But responding in kind is not exactly a good look when you claim to be the religion of peace.

You must be new to Russian history since the fall of the USSR. This isnt a new thing.

I know it's not a new thing. That doesn't change my point. If the Muslims want their 'religion of peace' rebranding effort to stick, they need to start being peaceful. But they won't, because Islam has never been about peace. It's always been about conquest and revenge, which makes them no better than the Russians.

Certainly is possible the leaks are intentional to trick Russia, either that or a group in government are probably against Ukraine winning the war or at least against the cost to the US for Ukraine be able to win

In fairness the Ukrainians have said that the T-90 is the only Russian tank their T-64s cannot defeat 1v1 (though it's unlikely they're actually pushing 1v1 tank duels anyway as that's dumb), I think the ineffectiveness of the T-90s can be mostly attributed to their lower numbers, poor use of them tactically and the fact they're just as vulnerable to NATO ATGMs as every other tank on the Ukrainian battlefield.

Rome once had a horse serving as a consul because nobody had the balls/courage to address the fact the emperor had gone insane.

At the end of the day it's quite conceivable that Russia's 70 year old dictator surrounded by yes men simply doesn't have it mentally anymore.

The T-72B3s when properly kitted/used seem quite tough - seen a couple of videos of duels with T-64s where they've come out on top and I've seen videos of one taking 2 Javelins and half a dozen RPGs before it was knocked out and even then 2 of the crew survived, another one took a good 4-5 RPGs to render it inoperable.

A lot of tank losses in this war through are to mines or artillery rather than tank duels or RPGs, etc.

One of the big differences I think with Western tanks is the better reverse capabilities - seen a fair bit of footage where the slow reverse has left Soviet era tanks in exposed positions or having to turn around presenting their weakest armour to the enemy.

Will it irk Russia that Ukraine is now able to generate plenty of electricity for itself and export?

I'd be surprised if Russia didn't attack it again, albeit not as big potential pay off with the colder weather giving way to spring. There is a lot of chatter of Russia amassing stuff for strikes, though I've seen no actual confirmation, so wouldn't be surprised if they hit the power grid again before long.
