Why does anyone think that nuclear weapons havent been used in previous conflists? The USA considered there use in Vietnam, both India and Pakistan have considered there use in their own wars . But its Pandora`s box - once opened then everyone would use them and it could lead to a global escalation.

Generally, as there have been no near-peer conflicts that involved a nuclear armed country.

Not sure if India and Pakistan had nukes during their last formal war?

China cant even copy Western cars well lol
so you haven't seen the exact replicas of the range rovers, Mercs BMW,s to name but a few?

They are apparently stopping making copy cats now though as they want to enter the western market with some of their own models, they cant do that if they are ripping off the big boys over here.

Yeah they are perfectly decent enough copies for the person who wants a copy of a BMW for a third of the price.
Its a bit like a fake rolex that is clearly not a rolex when you look properly. People still wear them even though they are not fooling anyone.

Have you?...they are awfulful and the engines are junk and no proper suspension systems and fall apart lol.

Sure they can copy them...just not in all the quality engineering parts that actually matter.

Should we even that total lack of any type of safety testing?

Saw a Chinese copy of a BMW recentish but a few years back now - had an interesting mix of kind of looking the part at a distance but at the same time an unmistakable aspect of cheap basic car like Dacia, etc. not really sure how to describe it. Interior was done in a stylish way but had all the quality and basicness of say a 90s Rover Montego - chunky cheap plastic switches and scratchy brittle plastics, etc.

China are mirroring what Japan did in the a few decades ago. Copy what is deemed good, learn how to do it cheaper and then bring out new models that are as good or better but cheaper than the establishment. Look at the EV's at the moment they are dominated by China and Tesla. In terms of value for money and indeed features no one else can get near. E.g Volvo EX30, 280mile range, 3.6s to 60 4wd.. 40K

Anyway back on topic the NA part of NATO stands for North Atlantic so I suspect Japan would come under a new treaty

NATO grew from the Treaty of Dunkirk, then the Treaty of Brussels - both which fed into the North Atlanctic Treaty - to form a mutual defence against the spread of communism. Expanded with the Western Union in 1952 then the Western European Union in 1955 (which included West Germany). The same cohesion in Asia hasnt existed - but, with recent events IS driving Japan. Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, to restart SEATO.

Having been in China, the copies are not exact replicas, the brakes are smaller, interiors lower quality, crash resistance poorer etc they look close from afar but far from close.

Still just amazed at Russians who believe that "We didn't have a choice", "Aggressive NATO" etc.

What's amazing is the West typically have no designs of land expansion for countries. Russia/China/India are the countries taking part in this the past few decades.

A lot of these notions are actually projections I think - while not impossible it is kind of ludicrous to think NATO needs bases near to Russia and/or would engage in an invasion of Russia - the populations of the West are far too consumed by self-interest to want it disturbed by something like war and the US and/or NATO has no need of these so called bases, though they might be convenient, these people have obviously never heard of stuff like the US Reach logistics and SAC heavy-lift, etc. with the capability to deploy a force of equivalent or better power as Russia used in the initial invasion in a matter of hours rather than having to build up for months.

What I think their mindset is, is that we in the west are taking over their culture and values and the push back is to prevent corruption from a decadent, immoral and weak minded west. To be fair it's what happened in the late 80's where social change was a big cause of the collapse of the USSR
