Ukraine Invasion - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

We just need to stay out of it, complete economic sanctions like with Iran and move on nothing else can be done.

Feel for the Ukranians, was gonna say hope they put up a good fight but not sure that is going for anyone either.

A video filmed on the 16th saying that evacuation is to be carried out on the 18th does not exactly show that the invasion was supposed to happen on the 16th does it. I am seeing this argument now that it somehow confirms that the invasion was planned for the 16th but I do not see it....perhaps I am missing something? Like it would have to have been filmed way prior to 16th stating that evacuation is on the 16th due to Ukrainian offensive to make sense, otherwise it's a pre-recoded evac video.
 
Biden said he is convinced Putin has already decided to invade.

Hopefully I will not wake up to news of death and destruction tomorrow.

Edit: Biden is saying the target is Kyiv.

I can't believe it could happen, this will be devastating for both Ukraine and Russia. Russia has nothing to gain from taking Kyiv, what the hell is their leadership thinking.

Even before that; Montgomery was crying out to go for Berlin before the Soviets got there but was over-ruled by Eisenhower - Monty should have stuck two fingers up and just went for it - the last 70 years would have been very different without an East/West German split.

This would have been operation unthinkable.
But with the sheer number of bodies the soviets could have chucked infront of the firing line, we would never have won.

Quite possibly, I mean the intention of the West in calling out Putin's plans is to try and dissuade him from carrying them out... if they can leak that the invasion is planned for 3am Wednesday or whatever and then that actually turns out to be the legit H hour for Russian forces then that doesn't look good, the west "called it", the invasion was a sham + embarrassing as Western intelligence has run rings around him and found the exact timing etc.. strong incentive for him to change his approach.

Same principle with the false flag stuff I guess, overall I assume that (at least until very recently) he might not have made a final decision on invading, he's clearly put forces in place so the option is available to him but the west calling out his plans is all part of the effort to try and make an invasion more costly for him, they remove his excuses for it/lessen the ability to justify it at home (thus affecting his popularity) they make sure he knows there will be significant costs upfront, they make sure to supply defensive arms to the Ukrainians, they make sure to make it clear they'll support a Ukrainian insurgency in the event he gets a bit too ambitious and grabs a big chunk of territory...

All of that is designed to ramp up the costs and reduce his ability to use excuses/manufacture justification in order to satisfy his domestic audience - if they're less likely to believe the narrative/excuse + the costs increase with sanctions, greater losses to Russian troops then this all becomes a riskier prospect for him politically - he might need to scale back his plans or (if he's not already committed to it) possibly even scrap them.
