They were clearly talking about the invasion Ukraine fears is about to happen.
But you decided to pipe up with that. We all know they haven't gone all in yet, it's kinda the talking point of will they or won't they? So it's easy enough to construe that you meant they haven't at all which several others pointed out is wrong.
No, kinda agree with what has been put out so far. It's you that still believes the biggest build up of military hardware and soldiers in Europe since the end of the war is just a training exercise.
We should put 200K+ NATO soldiers in Baltics on the border and then be like. Keke. Our own land. Screw you.

The declaration of independence of LNR and DNR is a mistake. Putin is going to lose the Minsk agreements that they can continue torturing Ukraine with.
Yet there is barely any victory in this at all. It seems like the only viable option to save face and ramp down.
If it ends here, this is not a bad ending at all for us in the west.

I believe the opposite, it is an off-ramp for everyone. Once again, as long as he declares them in current territories - this should not cause any sanctions.
Also, Ukraine has held position that these areas are Russian occupied regardless.
The only thing that can happen now is that there is going to be a lot less likely of shooting across the borders. As Russian troops officially enter the territory.
I really do not see why the left have any time at all for Putin. He is bad for his people and certainly no leftie himself.

Through current front-line most likely. So nothing will change as everyone in west already assumed the territory Russian controlled. The hope for locals is that Ukranians/Russian real army wont shoot at one another once Russian army enters officially.
If he declares WHOLE donetsk and luhanks then we're screwed. It's a full on war with Ukraine then. Its not going to just stop there most likely.
After parading everyone who's anyone in Russian power and gotten them to say they think those two regions should be recognised as independent I sadly can't see anything but an ultimatum to Kiev to pull away from the borders of those regions immediately or they'll take the rest of them by force.
Really hope I'm wrong and somehow it's de-escalated but after the show earlier can't see it.

Love it. One person out of 20 said 'lets recognize WHOLE Donetsk and Luhansk' gets translated into EVERYONE said it.
The sentiment is to recognize them along current frontline. Which changes nothing as Ukraine/NATO/US already see them as Russian occupied.
I did about the current situation which is being discussed, like i said if someone wants to discuss what i said 8 years ago then feel free to quote me on that.
People are banging on as if all intelligence sources are wrong and the Russians have already gone in again.
Short of making a fumble of things, nobody in that meeting said anything that wasn't intentional. Hope I'm wrong but if the intention were to keep the status quo Russian won't have needed such a huge force to back it up.
It might just be a case of backing up words with a big stick.
