At least he's made his position abundantly clear now. It was only a few weeks ago people were arguing about how pro Ukraine he is.

What I don't like is I'm still using Twitter, although only to read. I only started using it to follow what's happening in Ukraine as the mainstream media, especially at the start, were so poor in their reporting. What would be the best alternative? There are so many Twitter like social networks now with Mastodon, Threads and Bluesky. Are any of them any good for updates from Ukraine?

If so, it would be nice if instead of people posting Twitter links in this thread, they posted the links from an alternative.

Aside from Twitter it is horribly fragmented and/or not easy to link directly to. There are a whole bunch of Discord channels, stuff on Telegram, etc. Twitter just the easiest to link to.

Which sucks as as far as I'm concerned Twitter can crash and burn.

There isn't an amount of military aid we can give short of the US entering the war itself that will end it unfortunately. Most European militaries also just don't have that much hardware to give without compromising their own national defense. If Russia has seriously offered to withdraw back to the original borders for Ukraine not joining NATO then Zelensky should jump at that offer if he values the lives of his countrymen.

How would them going again be worse than the current war? You're basically saying we should keep fighting a war just incase another war breaks out. This logic is so baffling to me I can't quite get my head around it.

The loss of life doesn’t seem to be a problem for Putin or Russians who have (or had) far less to lose.

If Russia gains any land from this invasion, they will do it again and again.

They took Crimea and said they would stop there. We now know they will not stop.

Ukraine needs to take back their land if they ever hope to truly live in peace. Giving into this bully has proven to just invite more bullying.

Because...dum dum dum if we give them what they need to win, they win, get into NATO and no more wars forever more and can look forward to the future.

The other is surrender and mass killings, removals, etc etc with Russias peace plan, or ....a peace without a pro Russian government in place in Ukraine (unthinkable to Putin) that leads to another war and tension and the country in edge.

Take your pick.
