hopefully Israel will blow Iran to smithereens now, they are blaming Iran for supplying and planning the HAMAS attack.
This would be great news for Ukraine as it hopefully take Russia's biggest missile and drone supplier out the picture.
I would assume they will want to target the munitions factories.

Well iranian drone production moved to russia, so russian won’t care.

Only a week or so back Ukraine was asking for weapons and permission to strike Iranian drone factories in Iran and Syria. Wonder if Israel will ship 'em some now?

It’s not Xi’s style to get into conflict but Russia is happy in that state.
I think China is having it’s own issues currently. Loosing a sub probably knocked their confidence behind the scenes.

Turkey aren't letting any war ships through the Bosphorus strait and haven't since this began. In both cases its just a political empty gesture anyway. What's a US warship actually going to do ?
F16/F15's and Tomahawks cruise missiles can wreck havoc on Israel's enemies from the Mediterranean
The carrier strike group is not there to attack hamas they are there to attack anyone else who might dare to try and invade Israel from the north while most of its military is stuck in Gaza, such as Jordan, Lebanon and Syria - that's who the carrier group will attack not hamas

Wrong thread. I was mostly referring to Ukraine. I'm staying out of the other one as I can't be fair or objective. I work for an Israeli dominated company so a lot of this is very personal to people I know. For example: My project manager who I was talking with only on thursday now has an OOO message saying he's on military reserve.

Having the US parked on your lawn can have a sobering effect even on Russia and China two putative world powers, one debunked now.
There is no point in a US carrier group supporting Ukraine. If NATO had to get directly involved (which won't happen) then they can be far more effectively supported using NATO's ground bases on the doorstep.
The ground situation in the Middle East is very different and a carrier group is useful in those circumstances.
