Patrol it with what? They seem to be losing aircraft at some rate.

SU-25's are meant to be close air support jets and operate close to the frontlines so there always at greater risk then something like a SU-35/37 which can drop glided bombs from 50 miles away.

Getting to the point where he really does need to put up or shut up.

Yeh. It's all so stupid. We all know the only threat he has are nuclear weapons. Now, obviously that is a big threat but its ultimately just flipping the chess board so no one can win.

In spite of all his posturing and nonsense about the decline of the west/western influence, he knows full well that NATO would utterly annihilate the Russian military in a conventional conflict (in which we don't have any need to invade them).

They are ****** struggling to take and hold parts of a non-NATO eastern European country, and have lost vast amounts of their operational army in doing so. Any notion that they wouldn't get utterly embarrassed by the entirety of NATO's armed forces is ridiculous.

Putin isn't totally bat **** crazy, highly unlikely to use nuclear weapons unless his back is to the wall and certainly isn't going to do anything which puts him at risk.

But I wouldn't underestimate Russia's involvement/intentions in hybrid and other forms of warfare against the West or the potential for "rogue" elements maybe even.

Wouldn't be surprised if we have Russia, Iran, Hamas 3 way going on, Russia asking Iran for favours or pulling in favours and Iran sending Hamas a cake of rockets or something.

Still Puttin needs to go, the longer it goes on the weaker he becomes now.

Putin is attempting to open up a corridor of conflict that disrupts trade, travel and protection with the whole infian and south asian seas. A warzone curtain stretching from finland to cape of good hope in southafrica. The conflict acts like a block for business, allowing SA, india and china to increase effectiveness of the control over those areas and making it harder for the US to project control.
With inventory used up, russia asks the likes of hamas, and other organisations in europe and africa to drive a war to further stretch the US, with China closing the door the other side. BRICS attempts to claim a resource rich slice of the planet..

These new ATACMS missiles seems to have a very short range
30 miles doesn't sound very far for a high-tech misslile

Manufactured by Lockheed Martin, the ATACMS is a long-range, precision-strike ground missile. The system provides the capability to attack time-sensitive, high-value targets in all weather conditions.

The missile has been secretly delivered to Ukraine and was not part of the list of military aid published by the U.S. in September, aiming for a surprise effect against Russia.

The missile has several high-tech features:

The missile has several high-tech features:

  • It can reach up to 30 miles.
  • It is GPS-guided.
  • It has enhanced blast effects.
  • It is compatible with the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (Himars), which Ukraine already uses against Russia.
