Without any irony Grim5 mocks the Russian TV host for shutting down someone with a dissenting view, while a few posts prior hysterically screaming for people to block all discussion points from myself. The hypocrisy and ignorance on display is about the level I've come to expect in this thread though.

There is a difference between being silenced for telling the truth and being ignored for telling ties.

Ukraine can't get back the land it's lost, even with hundreds of Billions of NATO gear. Sooner people realise that the better it will be, especially for those throwing their lives away for what is now a lost cause. They aren't beating Russia.

I disagree, if they had more of the likes of the AS-90 and generous ammo supplies for those, sufficient medium range anti-air to cover even at company level, and better provision of equipment for transversing and/or clearing minefields they can put Russia on the back foot as things stand. As it is they are struggling because of trying to rush or not able to push Russian defences at/without huge losses, where taking time to clear is completely suicidal when they don't have the capability to suppress Russian defences and air support.

See it works both ways.

What a silly misguided take you have.

This is the objective reality unfortunately. Ukraine have fought well and kept the majority of their land and their government intact, but it's a fantasy to think they'll retake the majority of land lost unless a third party gets involved and fights for them. They will not be in a better position in the Spring relative to Russia.

Russia has the land it wanted, Ukraine has just been throwing people to their deaths for the past half a year, without even breaching the first of five defensive lines. All while useful idiots are cheering them on believing victory is just around the corner, the same idiots who said the Artillery and Missiles would run out a year ago, or that Russia's economy would collapse around the same time.

Because Russia are happy to stop where they are now?
Why wouldn't they be? What is it, 20-25% of Ukraines land taken, 50k+ square miles, plus those areas are where the majority of Ukraines economic output came from. But somehow this is framed as Russia being the one who is losing?

This thread is full of cope and fanciful dreams, the sooner the war ends the better. The Ukrainian Generals recognise the position they are in, but people in this thread seem unable to grasp it.

If you read this in a Russian accent it makes a lot more sense.

the sooner the war ends the better.
It wont though. As long as Russia occupies land that belongs to Ukraine, it will be unable to make use of it, they will be under threat of continuous attacks and attempts to retake it. Ukraine wont settle, they wont just cease. Even if Russia is content with what it has, it will be the ball and chain around Russia's neck to pull it under. It will eventually be the undoing of itself.
Russia will either have to take control of Ukraine proper (it can barely control what it has) and potentially face decades of civil unrest/insider attacks etc, or cut its losses eventually. It wouldnt be the first time they have retreated with their tales between their legs.

Its not like the war just stops and everything goes back to the way it was. Russia is a Pariah state for a generations to come at least.

So they should pack up and leave the front lines in the hope that Russia doesn't press forward? Even though they are currently trying to do just that in places like Avdiivka?
