It does seem that way, I don't think Ukraine are done yet, but they will be if they don't get enough ammo to keep fighting back with.

As much as we laugh and joke about Russia and how stupid a lot of things they do are, they still remain firmly rooted in Ukraine, and the collective west doesn't seem to have the will to back Ukraine with as much material as it will take to remove them.

I hope I'm wrong, and solutions will be found, but I can't see this going well for Ukraine without more ammo and weapons deliveries as things stand. Russia doesn't seem to care about how this war impacts them with sanctions, or even how their economy will hold up afterwards.

We need more weapons to Ukraine, more sanctions, and to show we're not willing to back down and let Russia get away with doing whatever it feels like.

It's worse letting Russia win as well because we've all been helping Ukraine, and Russia insists it wouldn't be enough to stop them, so if they win we'll also sit there looking kind of stupid for getting involved and failing to make enough of a difference.

I don't want to sound too defeatist at this stage, so I hope arrangements can be made to address this properly and for the foreseeable future.

I didn't see that Euromaidan post earlier, for some reason my browser isn't loading the media.

220k shells is a pathetic number and the fact they don't expect to arrive until 2027. Just consider that Ukraine could easily get through that number of shells in one month, were just inviting Russia to gobble up any territory it wants once it gets done with Ukraine. Ukraine needs around 8 millions shells a year with replacement barrels to match to win this war.

Yeah it's 155mm... not like some super advanced cruise or ballistic missiles... absolutely pitiful if we can't ramp it up. Just going to embolden Russia.

Problem is after the election in April Putin will embark on a massive mobilisation (if they can equip the recruits) and it will all probably be over by the end of the year.

On 30 August 2023, Lt. Col. Oleh Babiy commanded an operation with a small group to travel 600km into Russia to the Soltsy Airbase, where they were able to blow up one TU-22 bomber and cause some damage to another two. Upon their retreat back to Ukraine they were attacked and Lt. Col. Oleh Babiy was killed while providing firing cover to his men.

Lt. Col. Oleh Babiy Had carried out 9 prior sabotage missions behind the Russian lines during this war, some of which was for intelligence gathering such as identifying the position of Russian targets to hit.

He has been posthumously awarded the Hero of Ukraine medal

Aside from Ukraine this whole situation is turning into a bit of a mess - more and more countries top military brass are realising we aren't prepared enough as a very necessary precaution, and being far too careless, but then they are having to ramp up the rhetoric to get the message noticed, which comes across as if they are saying a Russian attack is inevitable, possibly imminent, which then gets them accused of being alarmist/ignored...

There aren't enough facepalms, I guess people deserve it if anything, likely completely avoidable, does happen but I don't want that for my family.

Tobia Ellwood describes the situation as being like 1939. Worrying times for the world really.
