Convicts were thrown to the lions, it didn't matter if they lived or died they were sent as cannon fodder who might take a few with them.

Russia gets to empty their prisons so more more expense housing and feeding them.

Maybe we should do the same with the worst of our prisoners
I'm sure the volunteers would love seeing their hard work be for nought as their highly trained job turns into making sure the authority-challenged individuals don't shoot them.

I’ve had six procedures on my knee and it’s basically just about boarder line serviceable. I’m still fully up for adventure if duty calls. Not a chance am I giving up what I’ve worked so hard for without putting up the fight of my life.

I think people just forget what it means to be British.

Ha, someone who actually took an arrow to the knee!

Kudos, sir- i'd probably do it, too.

he was talking the other about how good the Russian fleet is, he might want to watch this which says otherwise and why

I don’t think us Brits walk around observing car types and registrations TBH, so who knows or even cares what cars are in the UK or Switzerland?

I hope the Ukrainians stay away from your public parks though.

What's wrong with our parks? Tbh I agree with first part of the sentence, Ukrainians should stay away, clearly Switzerland is a terrible place and UK would be far better!

There may be certain parts of the UK where it is true I dunno, but certainly around where I frequent the vast majority of expensive cars are either UK registered or places like UAE.

Could be some people are abusing the temporary import laws for Ukraine vehicles due to the war to take advantage of not needing to register or tax it, etc. for 3 years :( annoyingly it is often rich people doing stuff like that for the sake of saving pennies.

the reality is there is an insane amount of corruption emanating from Ukraine and everyone is at the trough over there and here. Doesnt take away their gallantry in fighting but its also foolish to deny it exists.

No trolling from me, but what exactly does it mean to be British?

They are only following their proud tradition of screw ups. Remember to keep an eye out for torpedo boats, dodge the flying binoculars and enjoy a Whiskey on the Rocks!

Am I the only on that finds all these articles popping up about the reality of war, ww3, that the public might have to go to war, terrifying? Basically it sounds like there is a good chance the public in the Uk might be sent to war and myself if I was, probably end up dead.

IMO, ignoring possible funding reasons, it more comes down to those near the top of the armed forces realising that if we are under-prepared it significantly increases the chances of it coming to war, rather than believing war is imminent or inevitable. Sadly the general public likely won't understand it that way, push back against it and ironically make war more likely.

It is frightening when you think about for the first time but after a while your mind normalises to it.

When I heard Russia actually went ahead and invaded Ukraine I felt sick and very anxious, for a while I thought the mother in law would be living with us permanently. Thankfully, it looks like Russia isn't getting anywhere near western Ukraine anytime soon but for a brief while it was a close call.

So they're hoping the Uk has an army of 35 million overnight or something somthing, not to go to war with, but more to deter from war? Makes sense I guess, if China and NK can make stuff up we should have that expertise too.
